We had the good fortune of connecting with Aileen Pesante and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aileen, what role has risk played in your life or career?

I began building my business while I was working in the corporate world. After 10 years of being in Higher Education, I finally decided to take the risk of resigning from my position to run my business full time. Intuition is real, and my intuition kept telling me that I was ready to risk “stability” for chance. I took the risk of switching where I put my energy, and instead of continuing to grow someone else’s business, I chose to focus on creating something of my own.

I feel that there is always a lesson to learn and wisdom to gain behind taking risks. Instead of viewing risks as an immediate negative, I started to think of taking risks as a blessing and a privilege. It’s an opportunity to bet on myself. Risk can definitely be terrifying at times, but the lessons and the rewards I’ve received so far have been completely worth it.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

My business specializes in Tax Preparation and Financial Services. I focus on helping entrepreneurs, small business owners, and individuals create a system to ensure they are running the financial aspect of their business properly.

Financial literacy wasn’t a topic of discussion for a lot of us as we grew into adulthood. I’m here to help my clients learn that by planning and using the right strategies, they can keep more of the money they make.

I learned how to leverage the tax code to my favor. I want everyone around me to learn the same! Over 10 years ago, what started out as a side hustle to make extra money as a single mom, has turned into a full service business today.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love Art, great views, and great food! We would definitely hit the DMA, the Nasher Sculpture Center, and the Crow Museum of Asian Art. Then, we’d walk over to Klyde Warren Park and check out the events/food trucks. I would take them check out the Dallas views from the Reunion Tower. Then, we’d head to Uptown and grab lunch or dinner at Moxie’s or La Duni Latin Cafe, my fav. There’s always something going on in Dallas, so depending on the energy of the day/night, we would just flow from there.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to shout out Rudy “Coach” Flores . He has been an amazing confidant through my entrepreneurship journey. His journey has been an inspiration to me, and his mentorship, support, and guidance has been unmatched.
