We had the good fortune of connecting with Adrianna Amos and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Adrianna, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
Now that I’m becoming more of an adult, with more responsibilities and roles to play, having boundaries between my work and my life is very important to me. After being laid off from a job in 2020, I realized that I couldn’t let my job be the sole focus of my life. After re-entering the work force, I started to set more boundaries and take the time that I needed to do things that were important to me outside of my job, like be with my family or just take a break.
I believe that the balance can truly exist if you make it intentional and meaningful for yourself. Yes, go to work and put in your time, but when you clock out or lock that door behind you, it’s now your time.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What keeps me busy now is my clients at Ulta Beauty! I love the variety of services that we offer there, but I’m currently specializing in textured hair services and now, extensions! I’ve found a great partner to work with to provide textured extensions for my clients and I’m really excited to start offering these services to them.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Wow! Yall picked some great questions!!
First, we’d have to go to my favorite spot for breakfast which is Ellen’s Restaurant off 75 in Allen. Their blood orange mimosas are to DIE FOR.
Then we would probably spend time downtown. When I was younger my mom would take us to the DMA (Dallas Museum of Art) and the DWA (Dallas World Aquarium) all the time. They’re my two favorite places in the whole city. If we were SUPER lucky, we could go to the Open Mic at Maker’s Gym in Frisco on a Thursday night.
For dinner we would hit up some of my favorite restaurants like Whistle Britches (Plano), Sushi Marquee (Frisco), GIDI Bar (Frisco), and Ida Claire (Dallas).
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I always like this question!
First, I always like to shoutout my family. Coming from a blended family, I have multiple parents, mothers and fathers, and a menagerie of siblings who all love and support me very much. No matter what I’ve wanted to pursue, they’ve always been behind me to support me.
I also like to credit my aunt, Emily Amos, who gave me my start working her trade show when I was just a kid in high school. She really trusted me and taught me so much, I couldn’t have done anything I’m doing today without her.
