Meet Adrean Indolos | Director, Photographer & Filmmaker

We had the good fortune of connecting with Adrean Indolos and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Adrean, what do you attribute your success to?
I think for me, the most important factor behind my success is that I remember that all my clients are real people. I think a lot portrait-event photographers lose sight of that and start looking at people as just a means to make a profit, especially when it is their only source of income. When you work with people, you have to look at the bigger picture – see the person as a whole. When you treat your clients with respect and integrity you can create “lifetime clients” that keep coming back to you for more work. Some of my favorite clients, whom I consider friends now, started with me for their high school senior portraits, came back to me for their college graduation pictures, engagement & wedding photos, and as they started their new family, I was there for their newborn and family pictures as well! I love being there for all their major life milestones and they are comfortable having their friend be their reliable photographer.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I really pride myself in living up to my brand’s name. Being “Adrean Indolos Photography & Films” means that I give all my clients the authentic Adrean Indolos – I go above and beyond for my clients, befriending them, and treat them they way I would want to be treated. Whenever I shoot a wedding, I think, “How would I want my wedding photos to look?” That same principle applies to all portrait, event, and commercial advertising work that I do. I got to where I am today staying true to that belief since day one. It wasn’t easy some years. But I am blessed that I do have a marketing and business background to help me, at least, be able to come up with business plans in order to achieve financial stability and live the life that I wanted for myself and my family.
Some of the biggest lessons I’ve learned throughout my journey is to treasure those who believe in me and buy into the vision that I have for the future. Besides my family and my clients, it was only recently in the last few years that I truly came to appreciate the team that I’ve built. From the photographers that I mentor, the other filmmakers that I partner with, my hair and makeup team… each of them have bought in to my ambitions and goals of the future. That is something that I’m truly grateful for as I see others who struggle to achieve success on their own.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I personally love hanging out in Koreatown in Carrollton! Not only is it close to where I live, but there are just so many different food options there; I’m a huge foodie for sure! My favorite by far is Kura’s revolving sushi bar. It’s fun to see all the different sushi rolls going by on a little conveyer belt and just pick up the ones that you want to eat.
For entertainment I like to hangout at Legacy Hall in Plano. I like going to concerts and attending sports watch parties there with other fans. Plus, again being a foodie, the food hall and bar options are great!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I think the person who deserves all the praise and glory is God. I want to also give a lot of credit to the unwavering support of all my family and friends. For me, it was truly a leap of faith having to leave the security of the medical field in order to pursue photography full-time. There were years, especially in the beginning, where I had a few dollars to my name and having to constantly ask for financial support from my family. But I knew that this was something I was meant to do. So after years of grinding, patience from my family, and faith in God’s plan for my life, here I am today being able live the life I always envisioned.
