We had the good fortune of connecting with Adam Seitz and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Adam, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Ever since I can remember I’ve had creativity on my brain. My mind would constantly be wandering and thinking of different ideas. Being creative and artistic is the only thing that makes my life feel complete. And the feeling I get when someone admires/appreciates my work is an amazing sense of euphoria. I always knew having a “normal” job wasn’t for me
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My main goal with photography was always to show people what the world looks like through my eyes .. From capturing the most beautiful nature landscapes, to broken down dirty abandoned buildings, to cheerful portraits. I’m always trying to capture the moments that I think are the “coolest”. I take a lot of pride in my work ethic, and getting my clients their photos sent back to them in a very quick and quality manner. Customer service is super important to me, because without the customer, I wouldn’t be able to have this as my career. So I do whatever I can to make sure my clients remain happy. I’m constantly learning lessons along the way, such as never comparing myself, and staying focused on putting out the best work I possibly can. I want the world to see and enjoy the images that I capture, and find ways to bring them joy through pictures
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If a friend was visiting my hometown of Buffalo, NY, I would want to take them to my favorite hiking spot, which is the devil’s hole state park, and let them walk alongside the rapids of the Niagara gorge. Then obviously swing by Niagara Falls state park while we’re so close. For food, I would recommend Buffalo wings at Duffs. And also Taqueria Los Maya’s, for incredible authentic Mexican food. I’d want to take them to a sporting event if possible, because my town is huge on sports. And I’d want them to walk around the outer harbor and take in the views
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to shout-out the band ‘Until I Wake’ for encouraging me to pursue my interests as a photographer, and also helping me out with many amazing opportunities. I’d also like to thank my friend Dan Ottaviano, who’s also a professional photographer, for guiding me in the right direction with gear, and teaching me so many things about photography
