Meet Adam Jackson | Owner of Day & Night Watch Co.

We had the good fortune of connecting with Adam Jackson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Adam, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Everyone should do it. It is great to have a 9-5, but it is another vibe when you have something that is your own. I’m not going to say starting your own business is for everybody, but it should be something everyone should, at the very least, try.
It teaches you how to budget if you don’t know how, you can develop multiple skills, it teaches you patience if you don’t have any, and you continue to learn something new every day.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business is something I continue to focus on when it comes to challenges and adversity. As a guy who was homeless, I knew what I had to do to be able to become the man I am today. I was working two jobs, going to school, and had no clue when or what I would eat on a day-to-day basis. And to put the icing on the cake, I had a seizure disorder where I went months with no medication. I had seizures every other day. Some were on days I knew that I had to go to work. But I didn’t give up. Now I have my bachelor’s degree in Business, am married to a beautiful woman who I’ve been with for 12 years, have a healthy baby boy, and living a successful life. The hard work paid off.
I had one watch that I wore through my challenges. And now, it is a reminder not to forget where I came from and what I had to do to get here. This mindset is what made me bring Day & Night Watch Co.
The focus of my business was not just to bring customers a quality watch. I wanted it to mean something to them. We all have had our battles throughout our lifetime. And we all know what it took to get ourselves above the surface when we were at our worse point. It is that continuous grind that keeps you moving every day and night. That’s how I came up with the name. Because that is a mindset and a trait you can pass down to generations to come.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
With me being married to a chef, it would definitely be restaurants. Hardeight, La Hacienda Ranch, and LSA are my top 3. I would definitely show them Downtown Dallas and Downtown Fort Worth. The Stockyards is a sight to see if you’re not from around here either.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would say that the credit should go out to my wife, Shabrezka. She is my why in what I do every day. There is not an idea I have not run across with her in some way, shape, or form.
If you consider me to be the dreamer, she is the person who brings me back to reality. We balance each other. We’ve been through our battles and have continuously come out on top together. There wouldn’t be a foundation if it weren’t for her.
