We had the good fortune of connecting with Abu Sadeq and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Abu, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Cost of cybercrime to global businesses in 2020 was over $1 Trillion and it’s getting worse overtime. Having worked in the information security space for over a decade, I launched our startup, Zartech to help small to mid-sized organizations improve their cyber security defenses, reduce business risk, and meet regulatory compliance needs.

Organizations are flying blind on cybersecurity and it leaves them struggling to prevent cyber attacks. Many organizations are making security decisions without having all of the facts. We developed a software solution called, Cyberator that can take a 360 degree view of an organization’s cybersecurity program in areas such as people, process and technology utilization and accurately identify the security gaps, then helps them mitigate and reduce the cyber risk to an acceptable level.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I came up from the trenches and moved up the ladder to a leadership role at a global company. I have more than 20 years of diverse industry experience. But in 2016, I decided to leave my corporate career behind and start my own company.

The mission for our company is to help organizations improve their cyber security defenses, reduce business risk, and meet regulatory compliance needs. There have been organizations who have either shut down or had to layoff employees after a massive cyber attack. With our innovative solution, we are now helping organizations better protect themselves.

Entrepreneurship is really hard – building my business for the last 5 years has brought me the highest highs and the lowest lows. We are a bootstrapped company, so for us it has been really tough but we never gave up. With the end goal in mind, we keep pushing forward, and build momentum each day. We are already seeing the big differences that we are able to make in this space.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take my out-of-town friend to the lively Deep Ellum entertainment district in Dallas, which is known for its vibrant street murals, quirky art galleries and long-time concert venues for indie and blues. There are also great restaurants in this area. Depending on the time of the year, visiting the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden or watching one of the Dallas Cowboys came would also be on my list of places to visit.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to give a shoutout to Paola Saibene – a good friend and advisor who has supported me and helped our company grow.
