We had the good fortune of connecting with AaRon Marshall and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi AaRon, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I feel like everyone develops this as an interest once you make some money from it. The idea of getting paid for doing something you naturally enjoy never crosses your mind until that defining moment. Especially if the pay is substantial enough to take care of a responsibility or desire. For me, there were multiple moments where this happened. The first time was actually when I sold a canvas piece I made for my apartment. $100 was a nice sum for a 16×24 piece I never thought about selling in the first place. The next couple of times were when I was asked to design a tattoo and sketch out a design for a patent trademark. I believe that we have signs that guide us through our journey in life that lead us to the soul fulfilling interest we desire. So, I followed this path out of curiosity and it has brought me here to present day.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Sure! My art is a cultivation of old and new techniques. I was originally referred to as a “concept” artist because my practice is a combination of techniques from the Masters and modern day technology. Hence my moniker, “The ArtGraTech.” I stand out from the crowd because of my unique style of utilizing layers in a 3D format and “Diamond Dust.” The beauty draws my spectators into a unique experience that makes one focus on what people see and interpret with my compositions. I like to touch on vulnerability we all know of someone who suffers or can connect with. I touch on internal and external issues that a community of people experience. I believe my current success resides in my visual interpretation that simply stands out in a crowd of artists. This was my original challenge. I wanted to be different and push the boundaries of what art is. It needs to live just like we do! I have learned that this is critical in an area where there are soo many talented individuals. This pushes my message that art still has room to grow, improve, and evolve.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Honestly, I live in my city by the vibe. It’s ALWAYS an adventure and a time. Life is meant to be experienced not premeditated.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I honestly can’t shout out just one individual. It’s soo many underrated artist out here I honestly get inspired and embraced by! So shout out to all the artist who are making the decision to give their talent life in the light!
