We had the good fortune of connecting with 218 Poppi and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi 218, why did you pursue a creative career?
I believe that expression is one of the most important things in this world. It’s how we relate to ourselves and each other.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I can definitely say I’m original. Im not a microwaved version of another artist so that already sets me apart from others. Im most proud of the team that’s been assembled to get this machine going and excited to see what the future holds. I got here from consistency, always pushing to get through the next challenge, and never letting life get the better of me. Nothing you really want in life comes easy. It all comes down to how bad you want it and what you’re willing to do to get it. The most import thing that I’ve learned is happiness and worldly success don’t always align.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I had a friend come in town we would definitely hit up a couple strip clubs, Blaze and The Flame to be exact. We might even hit Cheetahs too for some GTA vibes. Some of my favorite restaurants are Tom, Dick, and Hank, Poor Calvins, and this 24 Hour Taco Restaurant. If its soccer season, we would definitely hit an Atlanta United game as well.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I could thank plenty of people but just to name a few sources; My bro Tracy Lamont is an Artist, Producer, and Engineer based in Dallas. Another good friend would be Amber DeLaRose of DeLaRose Cosmetics. Also the book “The 4 Agreements” by Don Miguel Ruiz helped me a lot in my journey.
