We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer Champion and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jennifer, what do you attribute your success to?
The DateShape Method was design to give singles clarity and direction in dating to identify LTR potential by date 3. No more waking up 3 to 6 months into a new relationship to realize that you don’t share dating goals and values. I’ve been in Matchmaking, connectiong singles for over 20 years. I worked for It’s Just Lunch before opening DateShape. I live to connect singles and love what I do. Connecting singles is a big responsibility. My clients and members trust me with their hearts and I don’t take it lightly. DateShape is successful because of the DateShape Method. I created a method for singles who are dating with focus and own their dating goals to identify LTR potential by date 3. The DateShape Method works because I show current pictures and clients and members assist me in writing their profiles. Singles are represented authentically by a MatchMaker who provides a human experiences with each connection. I meet all clients and members, any single that I connect. The human element of my matchmaking is what’s missing in today’s “swipe society” with the apps. I align dating goals, values, and MustHaves for LTR potential. When singles meet following the DateShape Method and have energy, there is a strong potential for a long term relationship. Clients and Members see current pictures and we have a Feedback call after every date to go over how it went and next steps. I coach my clients and members through the first 3 dates following the DateShape Method to identify LTR potential. The combination of MatchMaker and Dating Coach is so valueable for singles to navigate the first few dates and identify a true connection. The DateShape Method works because there is no surprises on dates and singles own their MustHaves. Dating goals are in line with every connection following the DateShape Method.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The DateShape Method works for singles to identify LTR potential by three. Date 1, coffee or cocktail to evaluate compatibility and energy. Date 2, an activity to evaluate lifestyle and personalities. Date three is more personal to evaluate LTR potential. You will know by date three, following the DateShape Method if there is potential for an LTR. Clients & Members see current pictures and profiles approved by all single that I connect. Most Matchmakers do not show current pictures. There is no surprises on my dates and dating goals are in line with connections. Most singles who meet on the dating apps like each other’s pictures. It is very important to align values and dating goals to have a long-term relationship.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am a resale junkie. We would hit Montrose for the resale shops and lunch at Salata or Sweet Green, healthy. I love Memorial Park and would take them for a run/walk maybe hike in the afternoon. The park is a slice of heaven in Houston. Dinner at Bar Annie or State of Grace would be lovely. Two of my favorite partners for great first dates following the DateShape Method.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My dad always told me, “do what you love and the success will come”. He believed in my talents and supported me in my dreams. He never missed a game, swim meet or my sporting events. He was my biggest fan and was the most positive person I have ever known. He always yelled from the sidelines, “You can do it”.  I hear him to this day.

He had a saying that he made my brother, sister and I repeat most days. Yes, made. I realize now it was our mantra, “I am happy, I am healthy, I am terrific and it’s going to be a great day”. I currently say it to myself most days and to my kids. We always add in his honor, “you can do it”.

I was taught as a young girl to believe in myself and do what I love with hustle, and the success will come. I lost my father five years ago to cancer, but I talk to him everyday and know he is proud. He doesn’t have to make me say it, I say it happily, “dad, I am happy, I am healthy, I am terrific and it’s going to be a great day. I can do it”. @DateShape
