We had the good fortune of connecting with Garrick Hutchins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Garrick, what do you attribute your success to?
I believe the way you treat people (especially the first time you meet them) plays a huge role in how successful your brand/company will be. When a client is treated with respect and you deliver a quality product when it’s time to service them, this will increase your business opportunities through word of mouth. In my opinion word of mouth is currently the most powerful form of advertisement.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am the co-owner of a full service DJ entertainment company professionally known as Alliance Entertainment Group. We pride ourselves in not only providing outstanding musical and optical expertise for events of all kinds, but most of all putting the customer’s vision for their special day at the forefront. This company was birthed from the dreams of two independent DJ’s with the vision of accomplishing something much bigger than they could achieve as individuals. The journey we have taken to achieve the goals we set when getting started has not been easy, but we didn’t expect it to be either. The DJ/entertainment industry is flooded with competition which varies from pricing to services offered, so you always have to remain aware of the changes taking place around you to stay relevant. We have learned that if you give 110% while maintaining your integrity with fellow vendors and clients alike, that is the ultimate recipe for success. Some DJ companies have a way of making weddings and events about themselves. Here at AEG we believe in providing entertainment that celebrates the couple and who they are. Thanks to years of experience our DJs are able to adapt to all of your entertainment needs so that you can cut loose and have an amazing time on the dance floor! We are driven by the joy we get from seeing two people who love each come together, and being able to help their families and friends celebrate the union through our love of music.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m not really much of a “going out” type of person so my idea of a good time may be a little boring to some. If I had a friend visiting town looking for a fun time I would probably bombard them with good eating for the entire week they are here! We would visit a lot of the West Village (Dallas) popular eateries such as Village Burger, Mi Cocina, Public School 214, Taco Diner, and Grimaldi’s. As for entertainment I enjoy movies and events such as comedy shows, live plays or concerts so each of these would be a must! Everyone that visits the Dallas area needs to experience seeing our skyline at night, so we would visit the Reunion Tower ball and enjoy a meal there as well. Other than that I’m pretty simple so I hope my friend wouldn’t be too disappointed, Lol.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
