We had the good fortune of connecting with Ciarra Harmon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ciarra, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
People are probably unaware that I am shy at first but I never actually show it. I am a social butterfly but I am also socially awkward so I break the ice by laughing or if someone see me in the corner or sitting by myself they will speak to me and from there I take off. Once I’m comfortable, I am fine and can eventually work the room.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
So My Business that I am running now is My Mobile Notary Business. I am Mobile Notary doing General notary. It seems easy but it’s really not and I say that because there is really no hands on training with notary but there some awesome mentors that are dedicated to help people and have also helped me succeed and I appreciate them for that. My end goal is start a business consulting company helping our younger generation start up business.
I got here in the professionally world today by finding me a full time job when I was 23 and taking it and running with it. I worked for Wells Fargo before 6 years before I moved to Dallas and I just used that as a stepping stone to become more familiar with how to deal with people and how to become more business savey and professional. It wasn’t easy and it was hard because I started as a standard customer service rep but I eventually worked my way and stayed focused.
I would want the world to know that nothing is never handed to you and you have to really go out and put in the foot work. Outside of the Notary Business. I sell lashes as well. So if you ladies need lashes. I got the best in the city.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Honestly. I do like Deep ellum during the day. I am a city girl and I like to go out have fun, have some shots, and laugh. So I would choose a day party in Deep Ellum and just explore the city from there. Federales is one of my favorites spots in Deep Ellum. Uptown Dallas is also. I am still new to the city so I am still learning my way.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First people that I think of when I got asked this question was my son Tyrone. Everything I do is for him. I am a single parent so I want him to know that hard work pays off always.
Also My Family deservers’ my credit. My Mom and my oldest brother law, My Dad, and my 7 siblings(Both Sides) and My big cousin’s as well. And Most importantly My God Sister aka My personal Therapist Melaka for listening to me cry about my businesses and ideas and helping with the structure of my business and making things more realistic.
