We had the good fortune of connecting with Rickeelon Chachki and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rickeelon, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Ever since I was a child I’ve always been very expressive and eccentric. I remember my 4th grade teacher told me I was very flamboyant, not sure what she meant by that age, but looking back, I understand. It was a literature class so I’d always write stories and basically perform a one man show when it was time to share. Fast forward I’m not at a point where I get paid to showcase my talents and express myself. Not many have the drive to take it to that level.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My most recent and prominently featured art discipline is my music. I’ve began my recording artist career and dropped my first single on Valentine’s Day of 2021. I’ve always had the creative skill set from photography, graphic design, videography and editing, and of course writing; using those talents to help other recording artist as their manager. I felt that I was being taken for granted and decided to just use them for myself and it’s paying off.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Knowing me, I’d probably be planning or conducting some major production. That’s how I bond with a lot of my friends, including them into my team and they definitely enjoy the creative “play time”. So after spending the day having a photoshoot, video shoot or what have you then we definitely have to EAT! I love Ramen and Oni Ramen is my favorite ramen spot. After eating, let’s hit the arcade and play some video games in languages I don’t speak, haha!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d love to give a special shoutout to my mom, she’s my toughest critic. We don’t always see eye to eye on certain aspects but I never felt like her or my father never supported me even if they didn’t always agree. They still love to see their baby boy prosper. Shoutout to my father for being a man that takes pride in himself and his family, which definitely transcends to me.
