We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicholas Salinas and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nicholas, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Honestly ever since I could remember anything that had to do with being creative or art related I was all in. My mind just works that way. I love the freedom of expression. Whether it’s Music / Drawing or Digital Graphics I’m all in.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I believe it’s been around 15yrs now since i’ve been doing or been involved in music. And I wouldn’t trade it for the world. Yes there are ups and downs and some days are tough but It always finds a way of working itself out. Being able to create a melody / progression or just a vibe production / songwriting wise there isn’t anything quite like it.
I gotta show some love to my brother Morgan Matthews, for his knowledge and acceptance in teaching me and building a foundation for what I do now (A&R) and believing in me. When I was an artist up until now when I write in my spare time he’s been there for it all and more, been working together for over a decade and everyday is new and fun! thanks for putting me on.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned, consistency and repetition will always win. Some Days you don’t want to do anything or it feels like what you’ve been doing nothing is working or you’re not being heard and it’s hard to get distracted with what others are doing but having a positive team behind you and a strive for success you can accomplish great lengths and more! anything is possible you just gotta push through it.
One thing I’d like others to know about my team (Addictive Music Group) is when you work with us as an Artist / Producer / Singer Songwriter we are a team and we understand what it takes starting from nothing and working from ground up and still striving for more daily!
We know what it’s like for someone new because we were once in those same shoes! Take it one step at a time and keep on your own path and pace the rest will follow suit. We are here for you and are always open to new perspectives!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love DFW. The vibes in Deep Ellum are always great, whether having a night out and grabbing some drinks or seeing some new talent (Open Mics) or Shows in general. Rest easy Prophet bar / The Door so many good shows and times I had there.
RBC is a vibe, Club Dada or The Bomb Factory are always chill too! We need more venues in Fort Worth but always worth the drive going out to Dallas.
All love.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to dedicate this shoutout to my mom Felicia Obiedo, this year it’ll be 7yrs since she passed and so much has happened in that time. Without her work ethic and strong mindset I wouldn’t be who I am today! Always on my mind I love you forever and always.
