We had the good fortune of connecting with Sari and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sari, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I pursued an artistic and creative career in baking because I found that baking was fun and very pleasing. You can do so much with it, one of the things I love to do is create content and make tasty desserts. I find happiness and freedom in what I chose to do and thats why I enjoy it so much!

What should our readers know about your business?
It all began as a fun thing to do for family and friends and after having my son it motivated me to begin selling dipped chocolate strawberries. I have always been very creative and loved business, starting Sweets By Sari seemed so right and organic! I had my first bake sale in 2019 Valentine’s Day and it was a hit, that was the beginning of our Journey.

My name is Saraih Tovar but Sari for short. We are very proud to say we create our own logos, menus, and content. I enjoy showcasing my work on Instagram, Facebook and Tiktok. We have now served over 300+ orders all over the DFW! We specialize in custom chocolate covered Strawberries, Pretzels, Oreos, Rice Krispies, Cakesicles/Cake pops, Number/Letter cakes, Churro Cheesecake, Breakable Chocolate Smash hearts and Enchiladitos. We are steadily adding to the menu!

Since starting my cottage food business it definitely has been a huge learning experience. My main advice when things become challenging is just to keep going and stay consistent and creative. Eventually your hard work will reap what you have sowed and remember there is abundant business.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When my bestie comes into town we hit up our favorite park or nature preserve or visit my favorite yoga studio, Kopal. I love to eat First Watch for breakfast, for lunch a salad at Salata and Dinner at my favorite seafood restaurant.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shout out goes to all our friends, family, customers, baking and creative communities… for the support and inspiration.
