We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer Blazek and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jennifer, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Building relationships is key to my private practice. Developing relationships inside and outside of my counseling office are essential for my growth not only as a small business owner, but also my professional growth as a mental health provider . My role as a therapist is centered around creating a safe environment where relationships can be built and then nourished. Community relationships are also essential for me as a referral source and as a way for me share my skill set.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I know going to therapy can be intimidating, but my hope for my clients is that they will find comfort in my therapy room. I am approachable, down to earth, and ready to help clients get to where they want to be. I offer a collaborative relationship, and work with clients to achieve whatever solutions and life changes they are looking to make.

In my counseling practice I see ages 14 and up for individual therapy. I treat clients who may be currently experiencing anxiety, depression, a major life transition, grief, women’s issues, trauma, stress, a chronic medical condition, and more. I use a combination of evidence based counseling and coaching styles and tailor each session to individual client’s needs. I have been a counselor for 10+ years in the Dallas area and have helped numerous individuals and families heal and find their strength.

I am currently accepting new clients for both virtual and in person sessions.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to dedicate a shout out to my mentor and cheerleader, Sally McMullin! If you have read Jay Shetty’s book “Think Like a Monk” then you will totally understand my reference to her as “my monk”. Sally fills my cup with encouragement, professional development, accountability, calmness, Mi Cocina self care, personal growth, and wisdom. With a servant’s heart, she is one person I strive to be like in the Dallas community. Check out her new organization for educating and exposing Black youth to opportunities @sallysthree.
