We had the good fortune of connecting with Jenna Thomas and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jenna, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success of my business and brand is authenticity. I have been manifesting what my business would be for a few years now. I am a huge believer in manifesting your success. I used to dream at my old job of the things I would do now to set me apart from others in my industry. I wanted to be real, raw, and relatable to anyone who crossed my path. I know I was put on this earth to inspire and serve others. No one is me and that is what sets my brand apart.
What should our readers know about your business?
Marketing and branding myself has been a huge part of my success but having patience and telling myself my time will come is what really helped me get where I am. I used to wonder if I chose the right career path in the beginning because I have been in the industry since 2016. Nothing was easy about getting where I am. I worked 2-3 jobs at a time to make the money I wanted to make until I landed the perfect esthetician job. Once I got the job I was super grateful for what I learned working in the medical aesthetic environment but over time I knew I was meant to be a business owner and on my own. I was over the same protocols for certain skin types or just doing what a machine told me to do step by step. I wanted to give my facial client an experience and tailor my facials specifically to them and their concerns. I worked really hard to have the clients, equipment, and products I have now. I really never in my wildest dreams thought Id be as successful as I am this fast. Now Im 1 year in and about to open my own place and a new second business (not facial related) that aligns with my brand. I am proud to bring something new to my city and I am so excited to create an experience for anyone who walks through my door.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was coming to the DFW for a week I would definitely show her a different area each day! Starting in Deep Ellum. First stop The Brow Project then bar hopping, amazing food, with even better music! Shopping around Dallas the next day and finishing the night in uptown. Work our way to Frisco to the Star for shopping, food, and let her experience concrete cowboy hah! And we would end the week in Fort Worth getting pampered with some amazing photo opps at the new hotel Drover!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
This is tough for me because there is no way I could name everyone who’s helped me this far. My parents, grandparents, cousins, my fiancé and his family. My mentors, Nicole Blankenship owner of The Brow Project. She is one of my biggest inspirations and took me under her wing from day 1. Audra Springer a hairstylist in grapevine who is my lifelong friend that encouraged me to become a laser technician and get my feet in the industry, and Rhonda Bryant a master stylist/Barber/business owner, and Dani Boulware with H2m strategies. I could write a novel on each of these ladies that have been here for me, encouraged me, helped get my name out there, and most importantly listened to me when I doubted myself during the process.
When they say “it takes a village” that is so so true.
