We had the good fortune of connecting with Nikole Enns and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nikole, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my brand success has been my willingness to do hard things, to put myself on the line, to work smart and dig in when it is needed. Doing hard things like, going after opportunities to work with a handful of large companies in my area. That was so intimidating! But, my desire to bump up my brand, by working with them overweighed my fear of rejection. I communicated my desire to work with them, offering what my company could do for theirs and continued to reach out and when the opportunity actually came, I ran after it. Even though it scared me and felt so much bigger than me at the time. Now I can look back and see how those actions made room for what my brand has become today.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am most proud of my ability to continue growing. My Interior design studio started out by helping out family and friends with their home projects and today I am working to design large scale boutique hotels, workplace centers, coffee shops, and high end residential homes. I think my design studio is set apart by my desire to find something unique to express my clients individual design voice. I am consistently looking to tell a distinct story with my designs, for my clients. I would like to be recognized for having a specific design voice, a voice that evokes an emotional response from people, that causes them to think and see the world differently than they had previously.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would her them to the city. Where I live when we say the city, we are referring to San Fransisco. It is a little over 3 hours away and worth the drive. It is the most metropolitan place to go, that isn’t too far away. The liveliness, art, architecture, food and history are the best in California. I would take her to eat at Mochica on 18th St for some of the best Peruvian food, we would visit H.D. Buttercup for fun interesting home design shopping. We would venture to the mission for amazing coffee, shopping and tacos and end the day at Onsen Bath & Restaurant for a delicious Japanese meal and soak in their spa tub.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My husband, Eric Enns, has showed me, continually what it looks like to advance without fear of failure and pursue what I imagined were impossible feats.
