We had the good fortune of connecting with Randi Rogers and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Randi, what do you attribute your success to?
I believe that focusing on service keeps the brand successful. If I am thinking about the needs of the Btide and how much this day means to her I feel like I have done my job. The weddings are very stressful and I want to add to the fantastic parts of the day and not add more stress.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I think that Ahimsa Artistry stands apart as a brand by making sure the Bride feels compassion and creativity coming from us on their big day. I’ve learned that it’s not like I am saving lives with what I do. It’s just hot and makeup! The Brides are what’s important not my ego and how wonderful I think my work is. If I do a fabulous job I am proud but most of all I am proud that my brides are happy. It has been east since I have owned Ahimsa because I have the passion for this business. That makes me push harder. At the end of the day it is all very rewarding. From the first email to the wedding day I get to connect with people in an intimate way and offer a calm atmosphere with the love of makeup and hair behind everything I do.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I think that the boutique hotels in the city are the best places to stay. Bed and breakfasts like the Gaston House. I would like to take them to bed t barbecue places in the city and also the arboretum.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to thank Tai Tipton my business partner and friend. Tai sold the business to me 3 years ago and I took over she was as by my side working with me. I would also like to thank Ladonna Stein for helping work through tough times as a fellow business owner. Kevin Acoins book Making Faces inspired me from the very beginning to be an artist and do what I love.
