Meet Teyanna Lamas | Owner and Founder of WhiskATX

We had the good fortune of connecting with Teyanna Lamas and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Teyanna, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
I view balance a bit differently than most. I heard once about how everything does not need to be of this equal balance we all strive for because not everything carries the same weight. For instance, when thinking about work and family balance. Family will always carry a bigger ‘weight’ and should be treated as such. This is helpful to take mental note of in the seasons of busyness to keep me focused on the heavier items and allow the lighter weight items to scale back a bit.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I love our story, truly a business started on accident, born from the love of the craft of perfecting the perfect macaron. I began teaching myself how to bake macarons (one of the most intricate pastries to prefect) and from that Whisk ATX was born. It was my friends and family then strangers who gave me the dream to open up shop. Fast forward 3 years later and I am so proud of our small bakery!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Man so many Austin Hot spots! I would take them to site see the Penny Baker Bridge, South Congress, Barton Springs. We would eat at the Peached Tortilla, Gabriellas, Little Olas Biscuits.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband, I know it seems like an easy out option but its so true. He believes in me much more than I do in myself. He is not only my cheerleader but also my business mentor. He is brilliant in the craft of entrepreneurship and has a great mind for business,
