We had the good fortune of connecting with Ely Trevino and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ely, as a parent, what do you feel is the most meaningful thing you’ve done for them?
I believe as a parent of two preteens , it’s important to give options and choices . I want to give my kids the option and knowledge behind of getting an education, that they can also form and learn a trade and build their own business and be they’re own boss and that no matter what our motto will always be to never give up.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Ely’s Micheladas y Mas started back in 2018 , my first event was a Cinco De Mayo festival in Garland, Tx . I threw myself out there and decided I didn’t want to work for anybody else and continue doing what I love to do ; cooking. I sold from home for a while , I got into a lot of trouble with city regulations, was reported Several times by random people and neighbors . Until I decided enough was enough and was able to get my business rolling on wheels . The Ely’s Micheladas y Mas Food Trailer opened in August of 2021 and I haven’t been more happier. It has been the best decision I have taken . I have learned that giving up should never be an option and always strive for more especially when you have a family that is looking up to you , in this case my two boys. Everything I do is for them .
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I don’t have many friends .
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Throughout this new year 2021 has given me the opportunity to engage in various small local pop up events organized by Monica Trevino a wonderful friend of mine. This woman is all about supporting local vendors and making sure everyone that she can reach out to has an opportunity for exposure and sales. She has been a blessing to Elys Micheladas y Mas and would like to thank her for all her support and love . Prepping and maintenance of my food trailer is also a hard and time consuming trait that exists in my business. My son Daniel Paredes , my mother Elizabeth Trevino , and Adrean Rodriguez , have helped me through time from running errands , prepping food, changing out propane tanks, sanitizing to even helping me park the trailer lol . The business has recieved help and support from a lot of great people and I am very fortunate to have them all in my life.
