Meet Todd Faroe | Alt. Hip-Hop artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Todd Faroe and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Todd, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Simply put, it runs in my family. Although sometimes I do feel like I’m the creative one who’s a bit..eccentric or different I guess to easily say it, but I pursued it because It felt like a way to let my imagination be free and my voice is heard.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
So, I write, produce, and record alternative hip-hop/rap music. Every song is something that I’ve been through/ experienced within my life. Just raw, unfiltered, lawful chaotic energy is what I say! I’ve done a couple interviews for my music in France. I also have one in Australia and Africa, and a lot more articles online here in the states. Technically an International Hip-Hop Artist is what I can brag and be most proud about now with my art.

I’ve been singed to labels before, only as what’s called a “developmental deal” and I won’t deny that those helped open some tight locked doors so I can reach the next level of my potential. It wasn’t easy that’s for damn sure. There came times that I’m sure many artist have to where I was stuck in my own head with self doubt. Like what am I doing here? WHY am I here?? There’s no bigger critic about your art than YOU. Eventually you drown out those voices and remember who you are and why you love doing this! I have a song titled “B E A U T I F U L” It’s available for free on my Bandcamp. If you want to know my story fully, that’s the best song to start with.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Definitely Grandma’s or Boiled Owl for Karaoke on a Sunday or Monday night! Want some ramen? Wabi House. Amazing craft cocktails? The Usual. Looking to just dance and vibe? Gusto’s on a Friday night, or LowDoubt bar on a Monday night also.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shoutout to life and just waking up like “fuck it. I’m awake. I’m alive. Depression failed cause I’m still here, and at the end of the night, I know my spirit is good. So I’m good.”
