We had the good fortune of connecting with Shyree Huggins-Battle and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shyree, how does your business help the community?
Sprouting Seeds LLC was founded by Marquise & Shyree Battle amid the COVID-19 pandemic. I believe our company helps our community and the world because our company’s mission is to exude light and hope to the ones needing something to anchor onto in these tumultuous times.
Our deepest desire for our company from the very beginning has always been for us & every customer who purchases our products to be conduits of God’s love for humanity through our widespread of products ministering positivity. From our books, apparel, drinkware, & more, we hope to extend faith, hope & love. Amid the pandemic, we realized the world was in search of hope & encouragement. With so much uncertainty & fear plaguing the hearts of people around the world, it left us all looking for a message of healing, positivity, love, & peace that many are still in need of to this day. So from that moment forward, we have been spreading the healing message & good news of Jesus Christ through our products. We look at the world around us as a garden, mosaic & different but all of value & beauty. Our motto is “Plant. Develop. Prosper because it encapsulates us as people being seeds. Seeds who are planted for purpose, and over time develop from “warmth” (love) & “water” (encouragement) to eventually sprouting & blooming to live prosperous lives; inspiring the world around us.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What I will say sets me apart from others is the authenticity of my work. Everything I have ever created has come from a pure, raw place, exposing numerous vulnerabilities within myself to produce the art with hopes that it will be healing for someone. What I’m most proud of is my resilience, tenacity, and joy despite the challenges that comes with running a business. I truly got where I am today by the grace of God, an amazing and supportive family, and community of people who seen my vision and received it. By no means has it been easy, however the growth, character development, and wisdom I extracted from the challenges, I wouldn’t trade for anything in this world. How I personally overcame and currently overcome my challenges is by relying on the strength of God, the safety and counsel of my husband, and my ability to persevere as I always have. The major lessons I have learned along the way is that if your goal as a business is to solve a problem, there is a high likelihood of effectiveness and success. There only must be a passion that fuels you to get up every day and work at it while giving it your all; with the confidence that if you don’t reach many, you’ll at least reach one. And that one will continue what you started sharing it with others, essentially touching others anyway all because of how it impacted their life.
What I want people to know about myself is, my hope is that with my company, and with every book, or product purchased, rather it is worn or read, that it ignites a fire of blazing hope and light that spreads like a wildfire through the hearts of all those who wear it, and all those who bear witness of it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well, first after recently going to the Dallas Arboretum, I’d have to definitely take my best friend on a stroll through that amazing place. So far I’ve tried many breakfast restaurants since being in Frisco as of three years now, but the two places that comes to mind that enjoyed the most are. Barney’s Brunch House or the Original House of Pancakes. We’d have to go there before the botanical garden, of course. We probably walk it off by going down by The Star, that would hopefully have something family friendly going on as well considering we have children. And since I enjoy my home and I love cooking, we would spend our first evening as a family eating good, laughing, catching up. Of course, when a week is considered, there’s so much other things to do like the zoo for our kids, Legoland, water parks, & having her try out other restaurants like Capital Grille, Gloria’s, & this good Italian place called Roma’s. The rest of the plans will probably consist of shopping, enjoying the attractions down by Grandscape, and trying other Texas staples like the barbecue and Tex-mex.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to shout out my beautiful and supportive husband & children for being the inspiration & fuel I needed to keep going. Also, Dr. Thema Bryant for her incredible book that’s transformed my life titled, “Homecoming”. My business has had many slow days but looking at my children’s generation & those to come, has kept me tenacious in continuing to walk in my purpose, produce the books, & design the apparel exuding hope and healing.. The goal has always been to be solutions to problems & the more I mother my children, I am fulfilled to be able to pour into the next generation.
