Meet Jeremy Gords & Brittani Gords | Owners of Kin & Lens Creative Media

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jeremy Gords & Brittani Gords and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jeremy Gords & Brittani Gords, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Honestly, we first picked up a camera back in 2011 because we wanted to photograph and document the birth and life of our first daughter who was born in 2012. This was before phones had good cameras like they do now so we bought a Sony A35 DSLR and started capturing everything! Over time we fell in love with photography and started doing small shoots for friends and family. In 2015, we decided to close that first photography business.
But the bug came back…. but this time it was for real estate photography. After I was laid off in February of 2024 we decided to give it a shot as a way to bring in extra income for our family. We launched Kin & Lens Real Estate Media in July 2024 but it didn’t take long for us to realize we loved so much more than just shooting homes. That is when Kin & Lens Creative Media was born.
Now, we photograph and film just about anything from real estate and corporate clients to weddings, private events, small businesses, large companies, family milestones, and even photo booth rentals which has been so fun! What started as a hobby to capture our first child’s life has grown into a full on passion and a business we never could have imagined back in 2011.

What should our readers know about your business?
Kin & Lens Creative Media is a photography and videography company that my husband Jeremy and I built with the belief that every story deserves to be told beautifully, authentically and with the feeling of working with family. Today, we work with clients across real estate, corporate events, weddings, private celebrations, small businesses, large companies, and more. And as we mentioned earlier, we also recently added photo booth rentals to bring even more fun and engagement to events of any type.
What really sets us apart is how we treat our clients. We are not just there to take photos or shoot videos. We make it a point to personally connect with people, learn and understand what matters most to them, and capture moments in a way that feels personal and unforgettable. Our clients become part of the Kin & Lens family and that personal connection is something we are so, soooo incredibly proud of.
Getting to where we are today hasn’t been easy. Starting over in a new niche we’ve never worked in, especially after being laid off, meant we had to learn quickly, take some bold (financial) risks, and really step out of our comfort zone. We faced challenges like trying to figure out pricing, marketing ourselves, building trust in a competitive industry and navigating how to safely invest in ourselves at a time where money was a little more scarce for us. We were able to overcome those challenges by staying consistent, delivering quality work, over delivering on service, and believing in the value of what we offer even when things felt uncertain to us as newbies in this space.
One of the biggest lessons we have learned is that your mindset can make or break your business for real! It takes resilience to keep going when things are slow and it takes humility to learn from every experience no matter if it’s a win or a setback. You just have to keep going!
If there is one thing I want the world to know about us, it’s that we are truly passionate storytellers who genuinely care about the every single client we work with. Kin & Lens Creative Media is built on family, faith, and a love for creating memories that will last for generations.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend came to visit, we’d sip some Nutella Lattes (with oatmilk) at Duino Coffee in McKinney, stroll through Adriatica (also in McKinney), and eat our way through my favorite spots like Nuno’s Veg Mex (my number one!!), Vegan Food House, Sweet Rice (Frisco, TX location), and Haywire in Plano. We’d shop Legacy West, find our favorite flavor of tea at HTeaO (I love the Texas Chai mixed with Ryan Palmer… tastes like apple pie!) , and we would wrap things up with some live music and great food at Legacy Hall. By the end, they would be full, happy, and officially hooked on DFW!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost we want to give a shout out to the Most High, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Without Him, absolutely NONE of this would be possible. We are a proud lover of Christ and want to always lead with Him as our firm foundation in all that we do.
In addition, we want to give a huge thank you to Clifton Young of Clifton Young Photography for helping us to realize our love for photography again and for helping us so graciously early on in our start. From encouragement to teaching us tips and tricks of the trade, he has been with us every step of the way and has been a truly amazing supporter of our business.
We also want to thank Andre Calder of Solid Rock Productions LLC for really taking us under his wing and guiding us, teaching us, encouraging us and partnering with us through our journey. He has been a wealth of knowledge with someone with a ton of skin in the game and real know how both as a business owner but also as a phenomenal photographer/videographer/editor and mentor.
We also want to give a huge shout out our other support system that consists of our family and friends. We can’t thank them enough for their unwavering and truly endless support of our business. We are truly blessed.
