Meet Maristella Bertram | Home Organizer & Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Maristella Bertram and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Maristella, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Throughout my diverse professional journey in both the private and public sectors, organization has consistently been at the heart of every experience, job, and project I’ve undertaken.
I was the girl who preferred arranging Barbie dolls’ outfits rather than playing with them. I learned to read using desk calendars, and I took great pleasure in organizing the equipment in my mother’s chemistry lab. That was me.
Recognizing my passion for organization, I realized I could use my natural skills to help others.
After being a stay-at-home mom for about eight years, I discovered that professional organization was an actual field (what???). In 2014, I incorporated my business, and My Space Reclaimed, LLC was born. But that was just the beginning.
While my background, passion, and experiences prepared me to make a difference in home environments, I wasn’t sure if I needed additional industry knowledge. That’s when I joined NAPO, the National Association of Productivity and Organizing Professionals. NAPO sets the standard in the organizing industry, and being part of this organization has taught me invaluable lessons.
Since 2017, I have held the designation of Certified Professional Organizer through NAPO— a voluntary title that signifies my commitment to industry standards and ethical principles.
Throughout my journey, working with and learning from clients, I realized that not everyone loves where they live. The more I explored my clients’ homes and their struggles, the more I discovered the reasons for their lack of excitement and affection for their spaces. This deeper understanding fueled my desire to help them transform those feelings while enhancing their homes and lives so they can live with joy.
Home is where we renew our energy, plan for the future, and share love with family and friends. It has the power to shape our identity and influence how we present ourselves to the world. Therefore, our feelings about the places we live are too significant to ignore.
What began as a mission to assist others in living more efficiently and productively has evolved significantly over the years. My Space Reclaimed is dedicated to helping busy professional women find joy in their homes. We all deserve to experience happiness in spaces that support and nurture us throughout our lives.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
