We had the good fortune of connecting with Kevin Craft and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kevin, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
As a brand identity designer and business owner, several habits have been key in what I consider to success for my business.

I prioritize setting timers for myself, which helps maintain focus and productivity throughout the day. It also gives me a heads up if I should be moving on from a task. It’s definitely easy to get consumed in my work, especially since it is creative. Sometimes it’s good for me to just pick up a new task, so I get a mental break from the work I was focusing on. It helps with solving problems, and often times having that break leads to solutions for the previous work.

Additionally, I designate specific days for uninterrupted work, free from meetings, allowing for deep creative dives and strategic planning. Sometimes I’m kind of drained after meetings and it helps to have days where I know I can do creative work all day, uninterrupted.

Lastly, putting myself and my work out there consistently online has been crucial in building visibility and attracting new opportunities. It’s how I’ve built trust, credibility, attracted aligned clients, and opened the door to collaborations I wouldn’t have found otherwise. Visibility is a habit too, and one I’ve learned to treat with as much intention as the design work itself. I always set aside an hour on Fridays to schedule posts to my instagram and LinkedIn profiles.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My work as a brand identity designer is rooted in clarity, intention, and storytelling. I run my own studio where I help founders bring their vision to life through thoughtful, strategy-backed design systems.

What sets my work apart is the level of care I bring to each brand, I’m not just designing logos, I’m building visual foundations that support real business goals and reflect the people behind them.
I’m proud of the relationships I’ve built with clients who value intentionality as much as I do.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We’d start the week at Berni Bean (best iced latte in Dallas in my oppinion) and DJ sets on weekends. For inspiration, we’d spend an afternoon at the DMA (general admission is free), then walk through Klyde Warren Park right after. To wrap things up, we’d watch the sunset with a beer at Trinity Groves, the skyline view is a real work of art.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d love to give a shout out to Abdulkarem Abdullah. Abdulkarem has helped me so much over the years. He has started out as a student from my online course, later we did a summer internship, and now we do work together on a freelancer contractor basis. He’s very smart, understanding and always up for learning new tasks.
