Meet Uni Dang | Esthetician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Uni Dang and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Uni, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Honestly, it came from a place of survival and conviction. I didn’t have a backup plan. I graduated esthetics school broke, with no safety net. But I had a vision. I knew I couldn’t work under someone else who didn’t value skin the way I did. I wasn’t interested in fluff treatments or chasing trends. I wanted to offer real results, clinical-level skincare, and create an experience rooted in trust, transformation, and truth.
Starting Dangskyn was never about glamor. It was about creating space for people like me, those who didn’t feel seen, those tired of surface-level beauty, and those ready to commit to real healing. I built this business from scratch with no investors, no viral moment, just grit, intention, and a whole lot of faith. Every decision I made was based on the question: What would I want as a client?
It wasn’t easy. I grew Dangskyn faceless at first because I didn’t feel confident enough to show up, but even in hiding, I made an impact. Now I use my voice and my face to show others what’s possible when you stop waiting for permission. This business wasn’t born out of luck. It was born from struggle, resilience, and a refusal to settle for average.

What should our readers know about your business?
Dangskyn is a results-driven skincare studio built on faith, intention, and a completely different approach to the beauty industry. I didn’t start this to fit in. I created Dangskyn for people who were tired of surface-level treatments and wanted something deeper. What sets my practice apart is the way I combine clinical performance with purpose. Every protocol is customized. Every ingredient is intentional. Every treatment is built to transform, not just maintain.
I specialize in corrective skincare, acne transformations, and Korean-inspired skin protocols that deliver real results. But beyond the treatments, I’ve built a space where clients feel safe, heard, and seen. That’s what makes Dangskyn different. I don’t treat people like a skin type. I treat them like a person.
Getting to where I am now was not easy. I went solo right out of school with no investors, no mentor, and barely any resources. I didn’t grow through viral content or paid promotions. I built Dangskyn quietly at first, behind the scenes, and everything I did was rooted in grit, consistency, and belief in the work. I’ve had months with no bookings. I’ve faced doubt, burnout, and moments of feeling unseen. But I kept showing up because I knew what I was building mattered. Watching someone’s skin heal and their confidence return never gets old. That’s the kind of impact I live for.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that no one is going to come save you. You have to lead yourself even when no one is watching. You can’t wait for permission. You have to stay obsessed with your vision and be grounded enough to withstand the noise. And most importantly, you have to stay in alignment. When you build from a place of truth, people feel it.
If there’s one thing I want the world to know about me and Dangskyn, it’s that I didn’t create this business to follow trends. I created it to create change. I came to break industry standards, to lead with purpose, to inspire others, and to represent the Latino community in a space where we’re often overlooked.
I didn’t build this to be a one-stop facial spot. I built it for real skin solutions rooted in education, long-term care, and commitment. I work with clients who are ready to do the work, who understand that real results don’t come from quick fixes but from consistency, education, and trust.
If you’re ready to commit to the process, I’m ready to walk through it with you.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Day 1 would start with brunch at Encina. I’m obsessed with their blue corn pancake. After that, we’d head to the Dallas Arboretum to walk around, relax, and catch up in nature. For dinner, we’d go to Sister on Greenville. It’s one of my favorite dinner spots. The atmosphere is beautiful and the food always hits.
Day 2 would be all about chill energy and good food. We’d have lunch at Sa Sa Sushi — one of my favorite spots for something fresh and filling. Then we’d end the day with dessert at Val’s Cheesecakes. If you know, you know.
Midweek, I’d want to explore a little. We’d go to the Dallas Museum of Art and the Dallas World Aquarium. It’s a calm way to break up the week while still doing something fun. For lunch, Flower Child is the move. It’s light, nourishing, and always gives that feel-good energy. Then we’d browse Highland Park Village. It’s great for people-watching, shopping, or just walking around and getting inspired.
For our wellness day, we’d rent bikes and ride around White Rock Lake. It’s peaceful and one of my favorite places to reset mentally. Dinner would be at Nick & Sam’s. It’s a Dallas classic and the perfect spot to get dressed up and enjoy a good meal with great energy.
To close out the trip, I’d bring them in for a facial check-in at Dangskyn. Maybe I’m biased since I’m the owner, but it wouldn’t feel right to let them leave Dallas without it. A reset for the skin and the soul.
Dallas has so many layers. It’s calm, creative, inspiring, and full of gems if you know where to look. I’d want them to feel all of that while they’re here.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Dangskyn would not exist without God. I’ve been carried by faith in every season, especially the ones where things didn’t make sense. There were times I had no clients, no money, and no clear path, but I kept going because I knew I wasn’t building this alone. Every breakthrough I’ve had has been guided by something bigger than me.
I also have to shout out my family and my loyal clients. My family saw the vision even when it felt impossible, and my clients trusted me before the brand had recognition. Their belief in what I was building gave me the fuel to keep going, even on the hard days. They’ve allowed me to grow, evolve, and stay true to what I set out to create.
And honestly, I’m grateful for the people who doubted me too. That resistance taught me how to lead myself. It built my discipline, my confidence, and my ability to show up even when no one was clapping.
Lastly, I want to thank the version of me who chose to keep going when it would have been easier to quit. That’s the one who really built Dangskyn.
