We had the good fortune of connecting with Mars Marquez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mars, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
I think the most important thing about online influencing is making sure you keep a stable life outside of peoples phones.
I do consider myself a people pleaser but I also know my boundaries when it comes to taking breaks from filming, making sure I stay close with my friends and family.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The videos I create are purely me, and theres nothing I love more than expressing my creativity, energy, and humor through fun editing!
I didn’t expect my videos to blow up the way they did, It basically happened overnight!
By expressing the very real life I have, I want people to feel comfortable with the fact that not every room has to be the “most aesthetic,” and if thats what you want, it takes time to get there.
Just like me!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would definitely go to my favorite burger joint “Porky’s” in east dallas first. I love burgers and Porky’s burgers hit the spot like no other.
I also love a good picnic day at the Dallas Arboretum or White Rock Lake, specifically in late spring!
This isn’t specifically local, but the nearest Urban Air is one of my go-to’s for some fun energy burners.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would really like to thank my Mom and close friends for supporting me throughout my journey online.
They have been nothing but the best people, the first ones I run to when I get an opportunity I never thought I would!
