We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jennifer, can you tell us about a book that has had a meaningful impact on you?
How to Stop Breaking Your Own Heart by Meggan Roxanne

I tend to give people too many chances and over look red flags. The book helped me realize what I’ve been feeling all along. That it’s okay to cut someone off/out of your life without explaining why. And when I feel a red flag. Run. Don’t continue the relationship. Put me first because if I’m not taking care of me. I can’t do my best taking care of someone else.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I don’t think anything comes easy in life. What’s important in making yourself standout in the crowd is showing up, doing what you say you’ll do and looking good while you’re doing it.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I enjoy making meals at home. So that would be my first choice. My health is important to me as well as my sobriety. When we want to get out for food I’d pick Knife, La Stella or Rex’s Seafood. They’re my favorites. I’m a sucker for fun gatherings, live music and sports games. So whatever is going on at that time.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’ll have to give this shout-out to myself. Due to my past experiences I’ve learned it’s important for me to show up for myself, the companies I work with, and the relationships I have in my life.
