Today we’re excited to be connecting with Aida Magaña Ortiz again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.

Aida, we are so thrilled to be connecting again and can’t wait to hear about all the amazing things you have been up to. Before we jump into all of that, some of our readers might have missed our prior interview, so can you take a moment to reintroduce yourself?
Hello!

My name is Aida, and I’m a fitness instructor based in Baja California Sur, Mexico. I am the proud owner of Plié Studio, a fitness and movement space dedicated to women of all ages.

I launched this project in 2019 in Mexico City, but when the pandemic hit, I had to close my studio. However, I quickly transitioned to online classes and created a website that continues to serve as a platform for those who wish to train remotely. In 2022, my husband and I moved to La Paz, Baja California Sur, and after a year of settling in, I was thrilled to reopen Plié Studio in 2023!

Alright, so our main goal today is to give our audience an update on what you have been up to since our last conversation. We’d love to hear how things are going and what you are most looking forward to or excited about these days.
Since the last time I shared updates about my business, a lot has happened. When we last spoke, we were right in the middle of the pandemic, and my business had completely transformed. It wasn’t easy to adapt to the isolation, but I was fortunate that the online classes were a huge success. So, the biggest challenge wasn’t surviving the pandemic, at least not from the perspective of my business, but rather reopening a physical location. From finding a space, making the necessary renovations, repurchasing training equipment, and starting to introduce myself again in a new city where no one knew me.

And I did it. In February 2025, my studio will celebrate its 2nd anniversary. It has been a journey filled with learning, growth, and new friendships. We are now a small community of women of all ages, strong and wonderful. My classes don’t just improve the physical aspect; they transform your entire being from within. It’s like going to a holistic therapy session where you work on your body, mind, and spirit, and the best part is that we do it alongside people who are looking for the same. It becomes a place with a magical energy.

Alright, so let’s do something a bit more fast-paced and lighthearted. We call this our lightning round and we’ll ask you a few quick questions.

What would the perfect day look like for you? Please give us as many details as possible.
My perfect day is very simple. It’s Saturday, and I begin with a cup of coffee, before anything else, followed by some physical activity. The rest of the day involves my husband, my two dogs, a good meal with a couple of glasses of wine, and lots of conversation while looking out at the sea. I love spending several hours enjoying the after-meal conversation, then heading back home, snuggling up on the couch to watch a movie, and falling asleep early.

I find a lot of peace and truly enjoy a quiet day with my family.
