Hi Tyanna, what do you attribute your success to?
I would say the most important factor behind my success and the success of my brand is authenticity. I’ve built my businesses around understanding and celebrating the beauty, strength, and confidence of Black women and women of color. By staying true to my values, I create products and services that resonate deeply with my community. Whether I’m styling hair, developing hair products, or designing fitness apparel, I prioritize quality, consistency, and a genuine connection with my clients and customers. Being authentic has built trust and loyalty, setting my brand apart in both the beauty and fitness industries.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business, is more than just a brand—it’s a reflection of my passion for beauty, fitness, and empowerment. As a hairstylist, hair product line owner, and fitness apparel entrepreneur, I create products and services that celebrate confidence, individuality, and strength.

What sets me apart is my deep connection to my community and understanding of the unique needs of Black women & women of color. I’m committed to offering high-quality products that uplift and inspire.

I’m most proud of how my brand empowers women to look and feel their best—whether they’re embracing a new hairstyle or feeling confident in their fitness gear. Seeing that transformation fuels my passion and drives me to keep innovating.

Getting to where I am today was far from easy. Before starting my business, I worked in retail and held other odd jobs that didn’t fulfill me. It was challenging to balance work, bills, and my dreams, but I knew I wanted more. My passion for beauty and the example set by my grandmother—who managed her own businesses and household with grace and determination—kept me focused. I stayed committed to my vision, even when it felt impossible.

Overcoming those struggles taught me resilience, discipline, and the importance of following your passion. I’ve learned that success comes from consistency, staying true to your vision, and seeing setbacks as lessons. There is a reason that the rearview mirror is much small than the windshield. These experiences shaped my dedication to building a brand that represents strength, beauty, and confidence.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting, I’d make sure she experienced the best of Cali vibes mixed with a taste of Dallas . As soon as she’s off the plane, we’d head straight for some authentic Mexican food—nothing says “welcome” better than tacos and a margarita
! Afterward, we’d hit up the swap meets (bazzars as the texans call them) because every time we’re together, we can’t resist shopping for some gold jewelry.

Throughout the week, we’d indulge in delicious food—fried fish, soul food, and maybe a barbecue spot to give her a taste of Southern flavor. We’d unwind with spa days to relax and recharge, then take day trips to explore surrounding cities and see what Texas has to offer. There’s always a festival or local event happening, so we’d definitely check out a couple of those, soaking in the culture, live music, and good vibes.

Of course, we’d spend a couple of days at home, just laughing, watching TV, and having those deep, heart-to-heart conversations—complete with a few good tears. It’s all about quality time, and those moments are always the most meaningful.

My goal would be to show her a mix of adventure, relaxation, and the genuine connections that make life special. By the end of the week, she’d leave with full bags, a full stomach, and a full heart!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The most important factor behind my success and the success of my brand is the inspiration and example set by my grandmother, Mary Goosby. Growing up, I watched her gracefully manage her multiple businesses while running her household and taking care of my 2 siblings and myself with strength and determination. Her work ethic, resilience, and dedication showed me the importance of owning who you are and never settling for less. She taught me to chase my dreams fearlessly. Her legacy of strength and perseverance is the foundation of my brand. I grew up in a family of entrepreneurs so I give them all a little credit with where I am today
