Meet Heather Hall | Family and Newborn Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Heather Hall and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Heather, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Photography has always been my passion. In high school, I dreamed of turning that love into a career. However, life led me down a different path—I majored in architecture in college and worked in the field for several years. But after becoming a mother, I realized I wanted to spend more time with my children. I decided to stay home and rediscovered my love for photography by capturing everyday moments with my kids.
Soon, friends began asking for photos of their own families. What started as a simple hobby quickly grew into something more. I decided to turn my passion into a photography business, knowing I could help other families preserve their special moments.
I soon learned that running a successful business requires more than just taking beautiful photos—it’s about connecting with people, understanding their needs, and creating an experience that leaves them with cherished memories. That’s when I dedicated myself to learning not only the art of photography but also the ins and outs of running a business.
Today, I’m honored to help families capture their most important milestones through photography. My goal is to create portraits that tell a story and serve as lasting memories for you to treasure for years to come. I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to blend my love for photography with the chance to help families document their unique stories.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I specialize in capturing timeless, light-filled portraits that reflect the love and connection within a family. My approach focuses on creating an experience where my clients feel at ease and engaged, which allows me to create meaningful imagery that highlights moments of joy shared between family members.
What excites me most is when mothers look at my work and see how beautiful their families are. Amid life’s chaos, it’s easy to forget to pause and appreciate those special moments. I strive to capture that beauty and love so that when you look at the photos, you can see your family the way I believe God sees you—full of grace and light. These genuine, heartfelt moments make this work so fulfilling, knowing that the photos I create will be cherished by many for years to come.
When I began my photography journey, I quickly realized that running a business would be challenging. Ensuring my clients have a seamless and enjoyable experience became a top priority. To achieve this, I’ve developed systems that keep clients informed every step of the way. A key resource I offer is a comprehensive session guide covering everything from what to wear to achieve my signature style to tips for preparing for the session and getting kids excited. This guide helps alleviate any stress, allowing families to focus on enjoying the experience while I handle the details.
Creating a supportive, thoughtful experience is at the foundation of my work. It’s not just about capturing beautiful images—it’s about making sure every family feels valued, well-prepared, and at ease throughout the entire process, from the first inquiry to the final delivery of their photos. This commitment to providing an exceptional experience has been key to building strong, trusting relationships with my clients.
At the heart of my work is connection—the small, meaningful moments that matter most. I’m here to help families preserve those moments in a way that’s personal and full of love.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband and children are my biggest supporters. My husband plays a key role behind the scenes, offering invaluable advice and insights on business decisions. He is also always ready to lend a hand with shoots. He even helps me pack up for in-home newborn sessions, which require a lot of gear—swaddles, backdrops, baby bows, posing equipment, and more. Honestly, I couldn’t do it without him!
I also have to recognize my children, who are always eager to help. Many of my clients have met them, as they often show up to sessions to assist with quick gear changes or whatever else needs to be done. I love that they’re learning business and communication skills at such a young age. Watching them get involved has been one of the most rewarding parts of this journey. They make this business feel like a team effort.
