We had the good fortune of connecting with Melissa Seaman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Melissa, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
My favorite affirmation is: I am enough because God made me a beautiful and strong woman, wife, mother, daughter, and friend. He believes in me and loves me more than I will ever know. I will lean on him and he will refresh me, help keep me focused and give me a clear mind so I can achieve all my goals and dreams in life. Phillipians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. This affirmation is my favorite because I wrote at a women’s retreat, in a time of vulnerability, truth, and thankfulness. There were a lot of tears, joy, pain and time that went into this and I needed to push through and put words to what God has done for me in my life. I didn’t always feel this way about myself, but with hard work, perseverance, support from many family and friends and my connection with God I am gonna achieve the goals I set for myself. #NeverGiveUP

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a Certified Life Coach and Owner of Heart & Soul Life Coaching. I help highly successful fun women become unstoppable by creating new thoughts, new habits, and new behaviors, and inspire them to reach all their goals and dreams. My business is completely virtual (zoom) right now and I offer a gift (one time) complimentary call to find out what it is they want to go after and change in their life. For some it’s more balance, so they have time with their family, for others it’s self-confidence, but mostly it’s just getting women reconnected to who they are, what they believe in their hearts. I believe that we get stuck in our journey and we just need a little bit of encouragement to write a “new story”. Women need love, connection, and opportunity to rediscover who they are and that is what I love to do. I love to help them find that again. The journey has not always been easy but it has definitely been a dream of mine since I was a little girl. I wanted to dress up in my high heels and carry a briefcase. When I am coaching women I feel connected and in tune with who I am and what my purpose is. My coaching is custom to each individual which allows me to really focus on what the client needs. One of my personal goals is to be public speaking within the next 3 years. I believe everyone’s story will help someone else and I hope to help thousands of women with mine. I currently work in education as a Paraprofessional in Frisco ISD and plan to be full time in my business by August of next year. I know that coaching is what I have been destined to do, and there is a huge need for it right now. I love helping others and I have excellent listening skills. When I see women, I see the joy in them, I see the possibilities that they don’t always see and when we dig into their purpose and find the clarity they need, they become unstoppable.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love the McKinney square. There are many small local shops to visit and restaurants to eat at. Spoons Cafe is my favorite restaurant to eat at in McKinney because you can order anything from breakfast to comfort food. Melissa, Texas has a beautiful vineyard on a piece of land with a big huge barn and live entertainment on the weekends. It’s called Barnhill Vineyards. I would go there one night for the live music and food trucks. I would definitely take her to the Little Elm Beach for a relaxing day by the water. We would also go to Ft. Worth to the stockyards for shopping and watch the bulls run through the streets. And eat at Joe T. Garcia’s for supper. And lastly a visit would not be complete without a tour of the Dallas Cowboy training facility and lunch at Babe’s Fried chicken House in Frisco. We would end the evening at a Frisco Roughriders baseball game.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost, I would not be where I am today without my lord and savior Jesus Christ. I used to look to other things and people to fill me up but now I just look up and say his name. He is my rock. My life verse for 2020 has been Joshua 1:9 “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go”. He has given me such peace and joy this year, especially through the pandemic and he deserves all the glory. I also want to shout out my church family at Rock Creek in Prosper Texas. Thank you Brad and Sarah Wilkerson for starting Rock Creek/COC church, 12 years ago, and always leading us to love the lord, teaching us about him, and encouraging us to love God and love each other. Our church family (community) is one of the finest in this area. I will be forever thankful for all the love and support there is at Rock Creek Church. There are several ladies I would like to shout out that have played a huge role in helping me become who I am today. First my mom, Marlene Dumas, raised me and gave me the best foundation she could as a single mom and I am beyond grateful for that.  I would like to thank my Dad, Paul Rawski, he has always loved and supported me and I am so thankful for that as well. Now for some of the Women in my life. Dee Jones, the owner of Heal, Grow, Share PLLC, in Prosper, has helped mentor, counsel and coach me over the years as I dug deep into finding out who I was meant to be. She is a wonderful Christian woman who loves the lord, her family and has a passion for helping others see their value, purpose, and potential. I also want to thank my dear friend Judy Hickman for her love and encouragement for the last 15 years. She has been a huge light in helping me discover who I was again. I was so lost and broken and I am renewed and have so much hope for what’s to come in my life. I also want to shout out to my husband, Richard Seaman, we have been married for 21 years and he has always loved and supported me in everything I have done or tried to do, and for that I will be forever grateful. I also want to shout out to my kids, Austan and MaryRose, I truly love these two with my whole heart. They have been a huge source of my happiness since the day they were both born. There truly are so many women that I could list that I have sat with and created life long friendships and memories with, old and new but I don’t want to forget anyone. I just want to say that if we have ever talked or spent time together you have changed my life. My friends and family mean the world to me. A special shoutout to my family and friends, in Ohio, and Florida. I miss you all every single day, and I am so thankful for vacations so we can visit and reconnect.
