We had the good fortune of connecting with Day Ra and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Day, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I like to think about risk as like a mountain; ever changing and confusing. If you want to climb that mountain you have to understand that there is no easy way up. Some people will try to climb with their safety gear close by to catch them if they fall. I’d prefer to go all the way to the top with no safety gear on. The greater the distance from the ground the more it shows me how far I have to get to be at the top. And if you fall that’s okay because falling is something you’ve done since you learned to walk. So get back up keep climbing and when you make it to the top you’ll see that you made it there in half the time it took you playing it safe.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Our first love at Ennead is art , we welcome all artists from all walks of life. We have a selection of great Photographers,Cinematographers, Videographers, and other visual artists who tell stories with their art and capture more that just a moment, they capture feelings that create long lasting memories and bring along the hearts and minds of a prominent community of talented individuals who share their skills and creative experience to set a standard in the industry.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Thats hard to choose! I’d love to show them Deep Ellum. It’s always so vibrant and upbeat. The food’s diverse and creative and the lounges, clubs and Speakeasys are one of Dallas’s hidden gems.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to shoutout my team at Ennead Productions they’re a huge reason we’re going to put Dallas as one of the forefront of the fashion and entertainment industry.
