We had the good fortune of connecting with Shay Hartis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shay, what inspires you?
I am inspired by Jesus Christ and what he has done for me and my family. Jesus’ self-sacrifice with his crucifixion, is seen as the ultimate act of love and redemption. This inspires me to embrace selflessness and to try and serve others when I can. Jesus’ teachings emphasize love, compassion, forgiveness, and humility. His messages about treating others with kindness and seeking justice resonate deeply with me being a believer.

What should our readers know about your business?
Growing up in North Dallas all my life, my knowledge of the local market, combined with a commitment to transparency and communication is what I believe sets me apart. I pride myself on building lasting relationships, ensuring my clients feel supported throughout the buying/selling process and that they know they can reach out to me for ANYTHING, whether that is real estate or not. I am not into it for just the one time transaction. I truly enjoy meeting new people and building an everlasting relationship.

I started my journey in real estate driven by a passion for walking beautiful homes and learning what all goes into building a beautiful home. It’s not always going to be easy; I will face challenges like market fluctuations and the need to establish a strong network. Overcoming these obstacles requires continuous learning, and adapting my strategies to meet changing markets. Real estate is always changing, and you must be willing to always learn.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve begin to learn is the importance of listening to my clients’ needs as well as the other side of the transaction. Everyone’s needs are different and all transactions are different in some type of way. I want everyone to know that my business is built on integrity, dedication, and a genuine love for helping others navigate the real estate landscape. I’m excited about the future, as I continue to grow and evolve alongside my clients and this beautiful North Dallas community.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shout out my parents Derek and Debra Hartis. I would not be the person I am today without them. They have been married for 30+ years. They have taught me many life lessons and have showed me and my sister how to love, be loyal, have morals, and to put Christ first. I grew up playing baseball since I was 4, and ended up playing college baseball at Texas Tech and Kansas State as a pitcher. I was able to graduate and get my business degree paid for through scholarships and would not have had that opportunity without them. They have always been there and supported me throughout the years through thick and thin.
