We had the good fortune of connecting with Monica White and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Monica, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
My deep connection to music has been present since I can remember. I know I told my mom I wanted to be singer when I was 5 years old. I started writing songs and taking voice lessons around age 10. It has always felt like a need to have a creative outlet. It’s truly therapy for me. I think that’s why my first 3 singles came when I was in a really dark place. Being in that studio though, made me so incredibly happy. Shortly after I had the thought of wanting to have my own studio. I decided to get a side job of teaching voice lessons at a music studio and fell in love with it so quickly. I knew that it was something I wanted to do, and felt so inclined to start doing it on my own.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am so proud that I finally took the leap to start teaching voice lessons. It has been the most fulfilling and rewarding job. I teach out of my home studio, do zoom lessons, or I travel to my students. That can definitely be difficult some days, but my dream is to one day have my own space. I am always reminding myself that getting to do what I’m truly passionate about is a gift.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Thrifting at Buffalo Exchange for sure.
Have to eat at Plomo Quesadilla Bar.
Legacy West for the yummiest gelato and Legacy Food Hall.
Tons of fun things to do at Grandscape, but especially love an arcade night at Andretti’s.
Best view of Dallas is obviously from Reunion Tower… it holds a special place in my heart since it’s where I got engaged.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would not be where I am without my amazing partner. Thank you for pushing me to start my own studio, and making me a better person. I love you so so much.

Beyond thankful for Andrew Sinclair who produced my first three songs, and captured my vision absolutely perfectly.

Chuck White (aka my little brother) helped me write some of my music, and has been a fan/supporter since day one. Love you love you.
