Hi Allie Ginos & Emily Hartzell, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
We started Tots ‘n Tassels out of a clear need in the community. As busy moms on a budget, we struggled to find affordable, hassle-free options for our kids’ birthday parties. Hiring party planners was too expensive, and buying decorations for each party only to box them up afterward felt wasteful. We wanted a solution that would allow moms like us to throw memorable birthday parties without the stress of planning or the expense of buying and storing decorations. That’s when we created Tots ‘n Tassels – a service that offers easy, all-inclusive party boxes that can be returned after the event, making it simple and affordable for families to enjoy special celebrations.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
We are proud to share that alongside running Tots ‘n Tassels, we both manage full-time careers and family lives. Allie is an elementary school teacher in Prosper, where she leads the kindergarten team. Her passion for teaching and understanding of children’s interests greatly enriches our business, allowing us to create engaging and fun party experiences. Emily, on the other hand, is the Senior Marketing Director at a marketing agency, working with businesses across the United States to enhance their online marketing strategies. Her expertise in e-commerce and marketing is invaluable to Tots ‘n Tassels, helping our business thrive in the competitive market.

Balancing our roles as moms, wives, sisters, daughters, and co-owners of Tots ‘n Tassels is challenging, but our diverse skills and mutual support drive our success. We want the world to know that our story is about dedication, passion, and the strength of family bonds, all of which fuel our mission to make party planning easy and joyful for other busy families.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If our best friend were visiting, we’d definitely show them the best spots around. We’d start at The Shops at Legacy, a favorite hangout with so much to offer. We’d grab a bite at Mi Cocina or the Box Garden and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere and some live music! For some family fun, we’d visit the PGA Headquarters and the Crayola Experience in Plano. These places are perfect for kids and adults alike, making them some of the most fun, interesting, and exciting spots to check out in the area!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We want to give a heartfelt shoutout to our amazing family. As twin sisters who started this business, we are incredibly close with our parents and have a tight-knit family that brings our husbands and children together all the time. We absolutely could not be where we are today without their motivation, encouragement, and unwavering support. Their love and belief in us have been the foundation of Tots ‘n Tassels.
