We had the good fortune of connecting with Anna Osipova and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anna, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
As a business owner in the stages of developing a therapy practice, my work-life balance has been a continuous and evolving journey. In the beginning, the demands of launching and growing the practice required extensive time and dedication, often spilling over into personal time. Building a solid foundation, developing effective treatment plans, and establishing client relationships are paramount, which means long hours and significant personal investment.

However, I’ve come to realize that maintaining a healthy work-life balance is crucial, even during these formative stages. It’s about setting boundaries and finding ways to recharge so I can bring my best self to both my clients and my business. This means intentionally carving out time for personal activities that rejuvenate me, whether it’s spending time with loved ones, engaging in hobbies like walking or playing pickleball, or simply taking moments to relax and unwind.

I view balance as a flexible and evolving concept. It’s not about achieving a perfect equilibrium every day but rather making conscious decisions that align with my values and long-term goals. As the practice grows, I aim to implement efficient systems, delegate tasks where possible, and create a supportive team environment. This approach will not only help in managing workload but also ensure the sustainability of the practice.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Our agency is dedicated to providing high-quality, individualized behavioral health services with a focus on applied behavior analysis (ABA). What sets us apart is our commitment to clinical comprehensive oversight of the entire therapeutic process. This ensures that every aspect of care is aligned with the best clinical practices.

Starting this agency wasn’t easy. It required overcoming challenges such as navigating the complexities of insurance, securing in-network contracts, and building processes designed to assist families every step of the way. However, my passion for providing the best possible care for our clients keeps me motivated.

Along the way, I’ve learned the importance of flexibility, perseverance, and the value of a strong support network. These lessons have been crucial in overcoming obstacles and achieving our goals.

I want the world to know that Play-Based Wellness is not just a business, but a mission to improve the lives of children and families through compassionate, effective, and personalized care. Our story is one of dedication, resilience, and a deep commitment to making a positive impact in our community.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my friends or family were visiting Dallas for a week, I’d make sure they had an unforgettable time experiencing the best of what the city has to offer. Here’s a little itinerary of my absolute favorite things:

Day 1: Highland Park and Uptown
– Start with brunch at Honor Bar or Sadelle’s in Highland Park.
– Explore the shops and beautiful parks in the area.
– Enjoy afternoon tea at Hotel Swexan.
– Catch a Dallas Mavericks or Dallas Stars game in the evening.
– Wrap up the night with drinks at The Commons Club in the Virgin Hotel.

Day 2: Active Day and Katy Trail
– Morning Pilates class at Shine Hot Pilates.
– Grab coffee at White Rhino Coffee in Uptown.
– Play Pickleball at a local court in the afternoon.
– Walk the Katy Trail, enjoying the scenic views and vibrant atmosphere.
– End the day at Katy Trail Ice House or Tequila Social for a fun and relaxing evening.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My success and where I am today wouldn’t have been possible without the unwavering support, love, and encouragement of several key individuals and groups.

First and foremost, my family has been my rock. Their belief in me has been a constant source of strength. My friends have provided endless encouragement and have always been there to cheer me on through every step of this journey.

I also want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to my professional mentors. Their guidance and wisdom have been invaluable in shaping my career and helping me navigate the challenges and triumphs of running my own business.

The faculty at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology played a significant role in my development as a professional. Their dedication to excellence in my education provided me with a solid foundation and the skills necessary to succeed in this field.

Each of these individuals and groups has contributed to my story in profound ways, and I am incredibly grateful for their support.
