We had the good fortune of connecting with Ja’Tayvin Richardson and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ja’Tayvin, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I wanted to make music because I didn’t know what else to do. At the time when I wrote my first song my grandmother past away. It put me in a place of self exile and silence I didn’t know how to express how I felt and then I just started writing. Some words rhyming but mostly stream of consciousness and that choice brought me to where I am today.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I believe that what sets me apart from other artists is me honestly. I’m a rare individual and that’s not to brag because it comes with many hardships but it sets my personality and my art apart from the rest. I am the most proud of my consistency in delivering albums to my fans and fellow consumers though difficult at times to keep going. 7 years of music and I believe I only got better and the lesson I learned in that is to trust yourself always. I want the world to know that Cloud19 is a forever homage to my grandmother born on the 19th of September. To whoever my music touched or helped get through the day just know you gotta thank her first for loving me enough to inspire.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The person that I will be shouting out is my mentor Mr. Carson Doss. He taught me so much about the world and how to carry myself in this crazy place we call earth. He was funny, caring, intelligent, loving, honest, strong, and so so much more. I am proud to say that I am one of the people who he mentored during his time here and I am proud to call him a father figure and friend. Thank you Mr. Doss.
