Meet Jeneice Chanzy | Veterinary technician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jeneice Chanzy and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jeneice, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
While working in the vet field for 3 years , I started to realize a lot of clients only came in for tech appointments and for basic stuff they were unable to do themselves at home . During the appointments where I was clipping their dog’s or cats nails , they would say it was hard to get their pet to the vet clinic or that the clinic stressed their pets out, especially if they had multiple pets or older pets. I began to think of ways I could help people with this same issue . Over some time , I made a list of services I would like to offer and prices . I knew I wanted my prices to be affordable for everyone . After that I found a website that I wanted to use and I started promoting my business .

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I originally started off as a volunteer at a small veterinary clinic in Slidell, LA . After volunteering there for a two- three weeks the manager hired me as their kennel tech. I started to work my way up because I knew I wanted to be a veterinary technician . I started to learn and within a few months I started working at a tech in multiple locations , the Slidell location and multiple in New Orleans . I eventually moved to Dallas and worked at another vet clinic and also became a relief tech for rsvp . While working at these different places , I realized a lot of people had the same issues with trying to bring their pets into the vet or them being stressed . With my business , I do everything in the comfort of their home . Every client I home I’ve been to say they had an amazing experience including their pets. Pets that are usually aggressive at the vet or difficult to deal with warm up to me and I’ve easily clipped their nails or bathe them . The owners love to someone who actually cares about their pets and their experience. I’m calm around them and I try to figure out what part of this freaks them out . If it’s an aggressive dog that does not like nail trims, I try a few different techniques first and see which one the pet tolerates more . My appointments are extremely quick , which people love . I’m also flexible and relatable . Most of my clients and their pets have come to love me and become friends who I sit and talk to for a while after / during their appointments

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting I would take her to a lot of food places . For breakfast I would recommend maple leaf / maple bacon , another broken egg, yolk , snooze and 360 brunch . For drinking I would take her to Federales in deep ellum . Some clubs I would take her to would be Mr.X and opera. I also enjoy victory park , legacy hall and grandscape.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My biggest support system and encouragement came from my two friends , J and Kei ,my significant other and my mother . I also have a lot of amazing clients who recommend me everywhere . My most supportive client is Mrs.Stead. She has recommended multiple people to me since I started my business and she has continued to be a great support to me and my business . I appreciate all of my clients who were present when I first started my business because they have been amazing support
