We had the good fortune of connecting with Zach/Lissi Adell/Mullen and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Zach/Lissi, how do you think about risk?
For us life without risk is for a lack of a better word, boring. Risk is a fundamental pillar in every small and large win in our journey.
Sure, when you are taking risks you will inevitably encounter failures or a more optimistic interpretation would be critical learning moments.
Risk opens doors in life that would otherwise remain closed.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
One of the quotes we most resonate with is “The audience comes last”-Rick Rubin. Every aspect of our journey has been approached with this mindset and belief.
If we create something that we would not want to live without, it will be unique without having to force uniqueness.
In turn the result of our work will be viewed as an original piece.
We are almost complete with a re-brand and shift in our offerings after four years in business. This is a critical pivot that would not have been made if we had followed another individual’s idea of success. We have grown so much as individuals and partners which has only been possible by staying true to what we want to receive from our efforts. No one else can tell you what you want out of this life.
We would absolutely not call our journey easy. For this reason alone, before starting any business, we can’t stress enough the importance of passion and purpose. Without passion and purpose you won’t have a guide to push and navigate through the ups and downs that are inevitable. No one said it would be easy.
Our hopes is the world and our audience effortlessly connects with out brand and offerings because of our genuine love of sharing what makes us happy.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Full transparency Dallas is not the easiest place for our interests. We love to be outside with our little guy and our dog, Wilder.
We cook most of our food at home and Burgundy Pasture is our favorite spot for local grass fed and finished meat, The Meat Shop is another favorite for locally raised Waygu. We would make the trek to Ft. Worth to pick up a couple bottles of wine from The Holly.
When in season the St. Michaels Farmers market in University Park is our favorite!
Fount Board and Table in the State and Thomas Neighborhood is our place for breakfast and coffee.
For Dinner out we may go to Terra at Eataly, Old Hickory at the Gaylord and Lucia. We favor these spots because of the attention to detail In sourcing ingredients.
Walking around our neighborhood, Kessler Park is nice, we also frequent the parks/grassy areas of Turtle Creek usually with a bottle of wine and raw milk cheese from our favorite cheese shop Scardello.
Keeping an eye out for any outdoor event/music is always a plus.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Our son, Indie Wolf, his spirit and innocence give us a primal energy to keep the pursuit of exploration alive and strong. Indie came into our life and flipped everything as we knew it upside down in the best way possible. Our purpose and drive is supercharged in ways we never knew possible. Decisions are made quicker and the vision has never been more clear.
