We had the good fortune of connecting with Don Richard and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Don, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I was unemployed, filling out application after application. I started looking for freelance work to pay bills. I ended up helping a man with a moving job. I made more money in one hour than I ever made in an eight hour shift.

What should our readers know about your business?
The number one thing with my small business is to make sure that my customers and clients are satisfied. Also, there are ups and downs in the economy. The advantage of owning my business is that I am able to negotiate and tailor prices based on customer needs. We do not overcharge, and we offer discounts to veterans, educators, law enforcement and first responders. We do not care about the money. We care about customer satisfaction and building rapport. The money comes later.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Legacy West and The Star in Frisco.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have to give glory to God and also praise my parents. Also, a man named Robert, who mentored me through the process of learning the moving and logistics business. I also have other strong people in my life, like a man named Ron. Moving and logistics is not a glamorous thing. We are not content creators or sell smart devices. Anyone with arms, hands, legs, and feet can do it. Customers don’t have to hire us. Customers are not just paying for us to move their items. They are paying to have the work done proficiently, efficiently, and with good customer service.
