We had the good fortune of connecting with Irese Berry and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Irese, why did you pursue a creative career?
My creativity came as part of my work life balance, it gave me the happiness and a sense of purpose outside of working my 9 to 5.. My items are handmade and created with intent that it’s enjoyed just as much as I enjoyed crafting it. Being a creator is selfless because you are always thinking of the person that can benefit and find value in it.

What should our readers know about your business?
I’m on a wellness journey, mentally, spiritually, and physically. I will forever research and consider myself a student to someone with more knowledge and share it through my creativity. In my business I create natural products and healthy alternatives to aid with said journey. I like to encourage a positive lifestyle that involves self healing and awareness. Self Care, mental clarity and being proactive when it comes to one’s health is what we focus on when creating natural skincare, organic herbal tea blends, spiritual items, and our natural coconut/soy candles. We like to present products as a gift while using sustainable packaging. The lesson I have learned along the way is to always meet people where they are in their journey and to never judge.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There’s so much to do in Dallas. Deep Ellum and Downtown has some of the best rooftop bars/lounges and my favorite tea shop, the Merit Catbird is nice. Uptown Parliament is great. The Bomb Factory always has a good shows. I would visit the African American Museum, Shop at Bishop Arts.. Grab a bite on lower Greenville and do the Soul bus tour to visit black owned businesses within the city. If weather permits while downtown visit Kylde Warren Park. If there’s a interesting musical or the fair we would visit Fair Park. We must do a spa! King Spa or Spa Castle.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to shoutout my family and friends as a whole for being understanding when I couldn’t show up or be as present on some occasions due to being busy.. But over all I want to give shoutout to my daughter for continued support and making sacrifices to assist me with production and testing. She always give the push of hope when things get tough and ’m truly grateful and thankful for her.
