We had the good fortune of connecting with Genna Skolnik and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Genna, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?

Before venturing into the realm of Real Estate, my professional journey led me through the corridors of a large Pharmaceutical Distributor.

After nearly four years working for ‘Big Pharma’, I chose to step away from the corporate world and immerse myself in the warmth of home with my boys. During this time, I discovered excitement and joy in personal real estate endeavors. The decision to pursue my Real Estate License was not just a career move; it was a commitment to align my professional pursuits with genuine passion.

As a working mom in real estate, I recognize that one of the most impactful things I’ve done for my children is to be a living testament to hard work, determination, dedication, and resilience. Striking a delicate balance between a thriving career and the responsibilities of motherhood, I’ve conveyed to my children the intrinsic value of chasing one’s passions, adeptly managing priorities, and wholeheartedly dedicating oneself to both professional and family life.

My hope is that my ability to navigate the demanding landscape of the real estate industry, all the while showering my three boys with love and unwavering support, has demonstrated a robust work ethic, adaptability, and the understanding of the importance of pursuing personal aspirations. Beyond words, my actions serve as a potent influence, imparting invaluable life lessons about perseverance, ambition, and the vast potential for success across all facets of life — and all of this while engaging in a career and life that resonates with love and passion.

Through my experiences, I aim to instill in my children the confidence to chart their course, fueled by their passions, and fortified by the understanding that success is not only achievable but profoundly meaningful when aligned with one’s authentic desires. I strive to be an inspiration for my children, illustrating that a life rich in love, ambition, and fulfillment is not only possible but a beautiful reality worth pursuing.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

Despite how it might appear on the streets and/or on televisions, it is not easy to be successful in this profession and most Real Estate Agents fail in their first year. The National Association of Realtors announced that more than 60,000 Realtors have left the profession since the beginning of 2023. Dallas alone has seen a 30% drop in the number of Real Estate Agents through 2023 (The Real Deal, February 2023).

I have taken a proactive and strategic approach to my real estate career, building a strong network of industry partners and leveraging meaningful and genuine relationships that have further supported my growth. My commitment to learning and focusing on relationship-building reflects a dedication to providing exceptional service to my clients.

To me, ‘luxury’ is an experience – not a price point. In a day full of showings, I love to find a unique coffee shop or lunch spot within the area that my client hopes to make home – and we sit down to absorb the energy in ‘the’ neighborhood. I put emphasis on the personal aspect of this business, prioritizing my clients’ needs over everything, demonstrating a client-centric approach that fosters trust and long-term satisfaction. This dedication to my clients and my focus on building strong industry relationships are key differentiators that set me apart in the real estate profession.
