When I was in the corporate retail sector I averaged 60-80 hour work weeks, depending on the time of the year. Towards the end of my retail career I was consistently working 80 hour weeks. My life was completely out of balance. When I wasn’t working, I was thinking about work. I was so stressed out that I couldn’t sleep. When my daughter was first born I did not work for the first year of her life. Since I got married in April 2023, my work/life balance has had to shift a good deal to accommodate the needs of my wife and 8-year-old son. I value my family time and enjoy keeping them as a priority. I have had to better plan time for my own business work, my sport, and my day job.
