We had the good fortune of connecting with Mukta Lele and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mukta, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
The idea for the business came from my own personal experience and need. My husband and I were having a small get together a few years ago . As the evening began, I was running to get the door, make sure the food was being replenished and yelling at my husband to top off drinks for our guests. As the night continued I hardly had time to talk to anyone for more than a minute since I was making sure everything was ok. As the night ended I mentioned to my husband how exhausting it was to have “people over” and how the fun of it was gone since I was running around like a crazy woman. I mentioned to him that it would have been so helpful if we could have just had a “party helper” who could have done all that so that I could have actually talked to my guests. That was when the idea hit me- why not create a service that matched home hosts with party helpers.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Every day is an opportunity to learn. I think what sets me apart is that by day I am in a very structured profession. The weekend/evenings are when I can let my creative side show. Its fun having the chance to be a part of both worlds.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If they were visiting DFW I would definitely have them visit the historical places like the Kennedy Memorial and also have them visit the Ft Worth Stockyards. Depending on the season, spending a few hours at the Dallas Arboretum would be on my list. If they were not from Texas then we would go to Jose for tacos and ritas and for breakfast I would make sure we had a pit stop at Village Baking Company for pastries. Klyde Warren Park is a nice spot to spend an afternoon followed by dinner down in Bishop Arts District……
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I am so thankful to my family and friends who have been a tremendous support in this journey. I am also especially thankful to my mother who has always maintained a “can do- will do” attitude. I am always in awe at the wonderful people I meet thanks to my profession. At the end of the day relationships and memories are what make life so enjoyable. I hope I am able to be a part in bringing people together and bringing a smile to their faces.
