We had the good fortune of connecting with Eder Enciso and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Eder, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I firmly believe we all have gifts assigned to us before we’re born. Discovering and utilizing those gifts are a lifetime responsibility. I pursued a creative career to help others serve their clients and industry better.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
E49 is the result of many attempts to create a successful business over the years. My first business consisted of my designing, printing and selling t-shirts for my friends in Mexico City, back in 2004. I worked inside a magazine firm and fell in love with graphic design. From there I created a couple of other brands, one of them with a firm presence in the skateboarding scene in Mexico City. I have always loved creating things! Not only creating graphic arts but also things like furniture, athletic shoes, soccer uniforms or jerseys, whatever my brain and hands can come up with to make something. Many feel like finding their passion is an event. In my case I feel that it’s been a process. Finding and defining identity is a life-long process. In that process my main objective is to serve others. That’s why designing visual identities or logos is a life-calling for me. I feel that I can help so many people feel identified with a good company, or a good philosophy. The process is not easy. Accepting rejection is not easy, but maturity and resilience can help overcome the bad days. It’s the same for everyone, so we learn our lessons, grow as individuals and keep moving.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Definitely a walk in downtown Dallas. I know, It might be overrated but I love downtown! I definitely will take you to Bread Winners, Henry’s majestic, the Dallas MoA, or the Nasher Sculpture Center for a nice chat.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have many mentors and have had good people influence me greatly over the years. Most importantly, I know my life could have been completely different if I hadn’t ever listened to the message the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints offered to me through two young missionaries. Particularly, members of the church are the ones who have mentored and inspired me the most personally. And there is no way to leave out my parents and siblings. Creatively, Ellen Lupton, Aldo Chaparro a Peruvian Artist, Chris Do, and Jim Rhon.
