Meet Mark Goldstein | Personal Chef & Business Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Mark Goldstein and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mark, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
One of the prides of our business, Chef For All Seasonings, is that it was started back in 2008 by my mom, Chef Jennie. I fully took over the business in 2022, and can now say that this is a multi-generational family owned company. While working with my mom, I learned all the ins and outs of what she had built, and used the information to both continue her legacy while also building on it with my own personal vision. Joining the business really made a lot of sense. When I look back and see how much I enjoyed cooking for friends and family, I realized how much I wanted to bring and share the joy of food with others.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
There are weeks, when my life is just so busy, there comes a moment when I realize I haven’t eaten in my own home for more than just a quick breakfast and coffee. Even after going out to restaurants with friends and family, or just grabbing something quick through the drive-thru, sometimes just having that meal made in your own home is just what the body, soul and mind needs. It is these moments that come to mind when I talk about Chef For All Seasonings, and why I continue to do this business and cook in my modern homestyle cooking. A quote from Anthony Bourdain, “Anyone who’s a chef, who loves food, ultimately knows that all that matters is: ‘Is it good? Does it give pleasure?'”. We are a very small business right now, who can only reach a handful of clients. We put together a weekly menu custom to each clients’ taste, preference and dietary restrictions. We do not do batch cooking and it is all made fresh right in the clients’ home. We pride ourselves in making delicious meals, with fresh ingredients and the perfect touch of home.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love DFW because it is a melting pot of different cuisines and activities, and as a personal Chef, I couldn’t ask for more. However, my number one recommendation for anyone visiting DFW for the first time, is to attend the great State Fair of Texas in the fall. You can spend all day there and then some. Get yourself the best cowboy hat at the shopping pavilion. No matter how you might think you look in one, you will fit right in. Have your fill of fried food, drinks, and sweets until you start to think about where you last left those stretchy pants at home. And do not forget your picture with Fletcher’s Corny Dogs right in front of Big Tex!
If you are into the arts, Dallas has one of the best art scenes you won’t want to pass on. A trip to the Dallas Museum of Art, Nasher Sculpture Center or even the Perot Museum of Nature and Science is a must. The Dallas Design District has some of the best galleries in the region, including my personal favorite, PDNB Gallery.
As for dining, that’s another book I could fill with recommendations, but just some of my favorite spots include Pecan Lodge, La Hacienda Ranch, Haywire, Fortune House and my hidden gem, The Heritage Table.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I could fill a whole book with people who have inspired, encouraged, helped, mentored or even put me in my place, but I will just give the main three. To start, I would say my wife and business partner, Luisa. From managing the administrative side, to helping create meal plans for our clients and absolutely everything in between, she is my reason for continuing what I am doing and more. Without her, I would not have been able to grow our business to where it is today. Second, would be my mom. At age 50, she started Chef For All Seasonings and is an inspiration to show you that age is just a number and it is never too late to start something you love. She had passion about her cooking and with every meal it showed. It’s not every day you have clients that stay with you for over a decade but when you put your heart and soul into your job, people can tell. And finally, my dad. He believed in me and was so happy when I got my first client. He knew I could succeed and I’m very grateful he had the opportunity to try my cooking before he passed. There are many more people I really would need to thank but without these three, I wouldn’t have gotten the chance.
