We had the good fortune of connecting with Passion Nicole Simmons and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Passion, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?

There’s a quote that says, “If you do what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life.” I think this best describes my motivation behind starting my own business.

I’ve always had a niche for planning and decorating. There was just something about piecing all the elements together and seeing the final outcome that excited me! I also seemed to be pretty darn good at it:-).

So, after a number of years of planning and designing in an informal capacity for family and friends, I took a leap of faith and established “A Passionate Affair” as an official business back in 2020.

What should our readers know about your business?
A Passionate Affair is a full-service event planning and design agency, specializing in stylish and upscale social soirees, which essentially is inclusive of any significant milestone or celebration of life.

We’re still relatively new to the scene, but we couldn’t be more passionate about the experiences we create. With every opportunity that is presented, we take great pride in our professionalism, thoughtfulness of the occasion and attention to detail – from start to finish. These are just a few of the qualities that I would like perspective clients to know about our brand.

I’m extremely proud of our progression, thus far. And I know that it only gets better from here – which is exciting!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There are so many cool attractions and amazing restaurants in Dallas. It would definitely be a fun week with friends!

I’d probably start with Reunion Tower. Even after living here all my life, the 360 view of the city from the tower’s observation deck still amazes me!

I’m a Cowboys fan, so next we’d make our way to the stadium for a tour — and maybe even extend the “Cowboy love” by heading to The Star in Frisco. There are also tons of restaurants in the surrounding area to choose from.

If they are visiting during late September/early October, the State Fair of Texas is a must! Trying new food and enjoying some of the rides is always a vibe!

And lastly, I’d probably drag them to some of favorite eating spots during the week, like True Kitchen & Kocktails, Hard Eight, Ruth Chris and some good ole’ Tex Mex from Pappasitos!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Wow – there are so many people who have played a supportive role, in many different ways. But I’d be remised if I didn’t first acknowledge my family and close circle of friends. Hands down – they have been my biggest promoters and loudest cheerleaders! It’s always comforting to know that there are people in your corner who are genuinely excited for your journey and who are willing to step in and lend a helping hand, if needed.

Secondly, and certainly of equal importance, I’d have to shout out my incredible team: Tamra Kemp, Kenya Scott and Jasmine Dial. I’m immensely grateful for their support and commitment to our overall success. It’s literally impossible to do what I do without them. So, I can’t even begin to sufficiently express how much of a godsend these ladies have been.
