We had the good fortune of connecting with Tajshina Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tajshina, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
I believe the most memorable people are the ones who want to see change (for the better), and use their skills, gifts, talents, and ideas to make that change. To be remembered as a person who pursues their passions while helping others pursue theirs is the ultimate goal. To be honest, I don’t always wake up with the drive and I need to conquer the day. Sometimes it’s not that easy but if I can be an example of “trying until you succeed” then that would be an honor (smile) . And I want people to know just that…. It may be hard sometimes and that is ok. Let it be hard and let that process grow you. The growth from doing the hard things is so rewarding, but you may not see the reward during the process. Ultimately in due time, you will see how you’ve become an exceptional person. So I want to be remembered as that. As someone who gave. If people are inspired by me and my story, then my then to me, my life has even more meaning. I want to be the proof that it CAN be done. I want everybody to know that it IS possible when they think about me. So to be remembered as someone who did it just so you can believe in yourself what I want my legacy to be.

What should our readers know about your business?
We started out only offering infused water at the market. We now offer real fruit lemonades with unique flavors like blueberry guava. Our lemonades are all natural, something we take pride in. Good water started off small with just me and my husband at the market every weekend. We never missed a beat.
I believe being that consistent is what lead to other opportunities. We did our best, stayed with it and in turn, our determination pave the way and opened doors. Since starting the business in 2017, Good Water has established a name for itself, we’ve opened a restaurant and we are expanding with new and exciting things in store.
I have not been an entrepreneur long at all. And what I’ve learned in just 6 years is that you must work towards what you want everyday. There were days when I just really didn’t feel motivated, for whatever reason. Sometimes those days will come. Just make sure there are people around you who can mentor, and encourage you because you’ll need it during those times.
Even though I have accomplished some of my business goals, I am still striving to work harder, have more fun, and help those who I can along the way.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
His name is Bryan Jones. What I’ve realized in life is that you have to have someone on your side, on your team and in your corner, as my parents would say. The driving force has been my husband, Bryan. The person who’s rooting for you the loudest, is the one you need to pay attention to and stick close to. That person wants to always see you win. I was pushed (in a good way) into entrepreneurship. I remember waking up, on my only day off, knowing that I had an important meeting downtown with the entire farmers market administration. But I wanted to sleep in! We wanted to sell our Good Water drinks at the market. The application process requires you to do a full presentation displaying your product and explaining in DETAIL, what your product is about, what the benefits are and how it would be a good fit for the market. The only time I could think of when I had to do a presentation that big was when I had one in speech communications in college. And I didn’t like it at all. I love people but was afraid to talk in front of people. It made me nervous, lol. So the thought of doing this for the farmers market admin was very scary and I tried to back out. Bryan, who was my fiancé at the time, gave me a pep talk and told me I could do it and also told me I had to do it! Lol. That was the push I needed and to say the least, we had a successful presentation. We’ve now been vendors at the market for 5 years and counting and it’s been one of the biggest blessings in our lives, and from that business, we have started several others, including opening a restaurant called Nacho Crazy! God over everything has been the main reason for my overall success and continued successes. He has given me, my husband and family the ability to create, grow and start businesses, and endeavors and bless others in return. I will always give Him the credit for being who He is in my life.
