We had the good fortune of connecting with Divya Bhupathiraju and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Divya, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
When anyone wants to get a newborn photoshoot for their baby, SIDHYA PHOTOGRAPHY is the first name that they should hear. That is my goal. Impressed by my work, when parents call me to capture the next milestones of their baby, thats my success. My end goal in this “never ending” career is to grow with my clients from bumps to babies to families.
Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
Witnessing a newborn grow is amazing for a parent which i experienced when i became one. All parents wants to freeze baby’s first moments to cherish later and this art called newborn photography grants that wish ,which i help fulfill. Capturing my little ones was a part of my daily routine and thats where the comfort with babies grew beyond just loving these little humans. I realized i am completely smitten with babies and have way more patience for little humans than adults. Newborns are the subjects that i could spend a lot of time with and never really lose my patience. Apart from not only learning basics like how to pose & photograph babies , i have also done a Baby Safety Workshop as i deal with babies less than 15 days and their safety remains my number one priority. it is a one-woman show right from styling the setups , posing baby, photographing and post-processing (editing). and i enjoy doing every step. It has been a big learning curve right from working all alone, designing unique setups for every client, finding ways to market, social media, gauging my own work quality and improving over time. it was all a slow process but my Passion, Patience and Perseverance made it very interesting. Every parent feels nostalgic when they look back their baby’s pictures, they would want to go back in time and hold their newborn baby once again, but i get to go back in time with every little client of mine. This work gives me lot of joy since i get to deliver parents their one of the most prized possessions .
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My grandmom always told me ” do what makes you happy and eventually that happiness spreads across people” and I can never thank her enough for that advice! My parents and Spouse encouraged me in every step of my journey even though this was a career path that they were not familiar with, since no one in my family explored previously. Without them i wouldn’t have been where i am today. Last but not the least , from being the first inspiration to lending their tiny hands and brains in styling the setups for my photography sessions, my little helpers – Sidhya & Shivan movitate me to work more and more. I feel so blessed to have such a supportive family and friends. Since my passion started with my daughter’s birth, I named my photography after her , SIDHYA
